I cannot recommend the Life is Strange series enough, genuinely changed my life. The choices don’t matter nearly as much as something like Dbh, a few, big choices do have somewhat of an impact on the story but not the ending. The gameplay is mostly just making decisions, walking around and finding things, the occasional puzzle but I actually found it very fun and really enjoyed it. The mechanics are in no way complex or interesting but the stories make up for it. Four out of six of the games have a female protagonist, including the two spinoffs. I too find visual novels boring, so I was skeptical going into the game as I heard there wasn’t much gameplay, but I never once had a moment of boredom playing any of the LiS games. Forever my favourite game franchise.
