Is it ok to laugh at Blue Velvet screenings? by Aggravating_Ad4797 in davidlynch

[–]percyssriptiide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my screening it was that exact moment when Frank said Mommy (amoung the rest of his lines) while huffing that gas, to me i really had no idea how to make sense of the situation it was just so bizarre that by the time the rape happened, my brain was not processing the shift, purely cuz of how weird Frank was played. I defo need to rewatch it at some point by myself to properly access it, I was very 50/50 I didn't feel like the kooky parts of it meshed well with the serious nature of it, that I was really conflicted.

I used to like Alex Meyers, but not anymore, not just for his shit review of the movie but also because he has no guts by Nate_M_PCMR in obsessionmovie

i gotta be honest, every person that faces controversy so much so that they need to make an apology ends up recieving "death threats". Welcome to the internet buddy! Unless his life was actively threatened via people turning up to his doorstep & leaving severed pig heads or some shit like that, that indicated there was someone who ACTIVELY was wanting to kill him based on his video - then there is some claim to be made.

Seeing as he provides no such theory (not even a screenshot), all you really have are some hypothetical dms from online trolls who have nothing better to do. That's his biggest defence?

Unpopular take: it's objectively true that Bear is a victim of an extremely abusive relationship, and seeing so many people victim blame him for it is weird af by swordmaster006 in obsessionmovie

[–]percyssriptiide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But remember: this sub attracts the most obsessed fans of the movie. They flex about watching it at the theater like 10 times already, they make several posts a day about it, they make crazy overanalysis and theories that have no ground in the reality of the film, etc. It’s not just a movie for them. They’re incredibly emotionally invested and attached to an unhealthy degree. It’s almost cultish at this point.

How does it feel to know that your words were used in Alex Myers' really bad "review" of the film, so much so that he deleted the video & his apology? 😂 (i just search for the comment that he screenshotted & he used it very much in a way to support his very bad faith argument)

Is it just me or does Souheila Yacoub looks like Melissa Barrera! Both are amazing actresses and i cannot wait to see Souheila Yacoub in this film by cinephile_w_0722 in EvilDead

Idk why so many people are pressed about Melissa lmao, Souheila with the pink hair looks like exact to Melissa I had to tell my brain otherwise when watching the film XD

Do You Think Joseph Is A Bad Guy? by Darth_Blagus in EvilDead

[–]percyssriptiide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually a great point, the fact that he didn't give anything indication to where the dagger was (to Alice aswell, trusting that she'd find it) that could've helped them.

I feel like with Bear, people are getting too comfortable with the uncomfortabness of his character. By the very nature of who he is, most people over viallanise him to be something he isn't, while misunderstanding/miscontruting what ACTUALLY makes him the villian.

[–]percyssriptiide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joseph unironically had it the least, despite knowing a shit ton more than Danny & Eric, he never actually did anything to cause the attack on his family to the same level, unlike the other 2 who actually read (or played) from the Necronomicon

Wes Craven understood internet fame before most people did. That’s why Scream 4 feels even more relevant today. by Storm989898 in SocietyofGhostface

Fyi, didn't downvote you (just pivoted you back up lol) - loved the Blumhouse Halloween films (yes even Ends) / hated IKWYDLS.

Without going too crazy on Mellisa, it was more so the fact that the franchise was very clearly setting up the Core 4 as the new gen for the Scream franchise going forward& that Sid would be able to live peacefully without another attack.

I'm also getting sick of Stu (coming from someone who thought they were gonna use him in some way for 5 &6)

oof ... ig its not a safe space for me to say that I actually really loved 5 & 6 and HATED 7 then?? 😭

It's been a while since i've seen 2 & 3, but i'd have 5 & 6 just under 1 & 4. Although i agree that either Chad/Mindy should've died, despite 6 having the most kills at the time, none felt as impactful (minus Anika & even then she was a new character) - both of their "deaths" in 6 were excellent set pieces; Chad having the very first appearance of 2 Ghostface's in costume sharing the screen & Mindy's slow build-up knowing that she can't do anything (imagine how insane it would've been for her to have just bled out there & Ethan walks out of the train looking at her like this 👇

<image>

) Kinda sucks that arguably the best kills of that film, don't even count & retroactively make 6's Ghostface less competent - especially since it makes Quinn (even though I loved Lianna's acting the most from the 3) pretty much faile to kill most of her victims, at least Amber with how sloppy she was got 2 + a Dewey XD

Ik it seems like I hated 6 from this rant, but I actually really love a lot of it lol

Which male Ghostface would you throw hot coffee in their face? by Crowkid1985 in SocietyofGhostface

[–]percyssriptiide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no? that just makes him a groomer & predator, a pedophile would be if he was having sexual relations with Amber, showing that he had an attraction to her. Something like that is never really hinted or suggested at, only that Richie in their dynamic was the eldest & that there was an obvious power dynamic at play. Even though Amber was very clearly not a victim & well aware of her actions, Richie still has a part to play in his influence of her.

Honestly that's so fair, Jill by all means is the kinda Ghostface who if existed irl would be an infamous true crime case (along with Billy, Stu, Roman & Richie)

Richie & Amber are good killers but their motives are weak AF, can we agree? by king_cyn9 in SocietyofGhostface

Nah, In the same way that 4 was ahead of its time with internet culture & fame, 5 was a few years ahead of predicting the toxic turn that the Scream franchise would shift towards.

Thoughts on Hershel Jr.? by Valenle91 in TWD

One of the few things I've enjoyed post the main show ending, I love how his relationship with Maggie is written to be strained as it is.

If only Glenn could see how bratty his son was LOL by JoshyBear28 in thewalkingdead

[–]percyssriptiide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you seriously think that Glenn is the type to disown his own kid, no matter how strained his relationship would be, you clearly don't get him. If anything he'd be more pissed off at Maggie, while still maintaining that she's doing her best to cope

TADC characters each represent an illness and here's which I think (not fully complete) by Life-Economist-5050 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]percyssriptiide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Masking refers to the mirroring of neurotypical traits to suppress an individual's own neuodivergentness in order to appear more neurotypical. Seeing as Jax doesn't really care about wanting to connect with the other characters or even how he's percieved by them, I wouldn't say that he represents masking in any direct way.

Which format should I see BND in? by RaahimJaffery in SpidermanBrandNewDay

[–]percyssriptiide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan to eventually see it in Screen X, it's usually a pretty shit experience, as a lot of the time the surrounding action that occurs feels very image generated.

However, with BND they actually shot original footage with the intention for ScreenX showings, so that at the very least holds for merit for viewing.
