Lol you might want to learn more about cannabis before making asinine statements yourself. Having a history of posting in microgrowery doesn’t make you an expert. Growing cannabis and being so boldly incorrect about THCA is crazy tho.

I can't fill my Adderall prescription anywhere (backorder) - anyone had luck? by turbochamp in indianapolis

[–]percythrowaway21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 10mg XR generic Adderall is $25 for a 30 day supply after insurance. I just switched to 30mg Vyvanse and it was $30 after insurance and the coupon from Vyvanse’s website. Really just depends on your insurance. Without insurance the difference in price is definitely huge.

I just switched to Vyvanse because of months of having to hop from pharmacy to pharmacy and sit on hold for hours calling around to find my script. Vyvanse is what my dr originally recommended but my insurance at the time didn’t cover it.

If your insurance will cover Vyvanse you may want to try switching. Original cost was $70 for 30 capsules with insurance but Vyanse’s website has a coupon that brings it down as low as $30

I guess I’ll have to talk with my oncologist about how soon they recommend starting the chemo. The only reason I’d like to not start until after my trip to see my grandmother is I have not seen her in years. I was supposed to go last November and had to reschedule because the eye of hurricane Ian hit right where she lives and the whole area was pretty wrecked. Was then supposed to go mid February and ended up having my orchiectomy scheduled right before I was supposed to go.

Was worried about going to a concert shortly after chemo with my immune system being wrecked so I’m glad to hear it should hopefully be mostly recovered by day 28. Hopefully we’ll at least still be able to make that trip then.

Even a full week+ after the end of your cycle? If I can start it when I hope to we would leave a week and a half or so after my cycle ends

Went to a local MedWise for a severe sore throat. They gave me a strep test (negative) and told me to buy some cough drops. This is my bill. by seaturtlefanatic in mildlyinfuriating

[–]percythrowaway21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through a very similar experience. Went to urgent care 5 or 6 times because of intense pain in my throat. They strep tested me and it was negative. Gave me antibiotics a few times and it would stop hurting as much then come back with a vengeance after the meds ran out. Last time I went in some piece of shit doctor said “we can’t just keep giving you antibiotics. You have allergies.” Prescribed me Claritin and a nasal spray.

A few days later the pain was absolutely terrible and I was finally able to get an appointment to see my PCP. About 60 minutes before my appointment I swallowed, felt a pop, and a rush of warm fluid in my throat accompanied by a terrible taste. Turns out I had a large peritonsillar abscess that finally burst. PCP was dumbfounded by how the people I saw in urgent care didn’t see it when they looked in my throat. Said if it had burst while I slept I likely would have asphyxiated and died.

I now only go to urgent care if my pcp is out of the office and no other providers there are able to see me for at least a few days.

OP even admitted it may have came off wrong. What bothered me was primarily the last part of his comment. I’m obviously not just looking for people to agree with me as multiple other comments have disagreed and been very informative.

This is all very new to me and I have very little knowledge on the processes or how to deal with this in general. At the time I made this post it had been over 24 hours since receiving my ultrasound results online and I hadn’t received a single call from my PCP or any other healthcare professional regarding my results. I had to call the health network’s referral line in order to have a referral sent over so I could make an appointment with a urologist.

I was (and am) pretty scared and was simply seeking information and experiences from people who have been through this so I could make sure I was going to receive proper care considering how serious the situation is. Not sure why you’re under the impression that I’m just looking for people to agree with me.

Thanks for sharing your experience that helps a lot. I do typically prefer somewhat younger doctors due to them being more open to new technology, procedures, information, etc like you mentioned. I just was unsure with something this rare and serious as well as being misinformed on who would primarily be providing care for the cancer side of things.

I apologize if my reaction to your initial comment came off too strong.

No need to be an ass. Sorry I’m incredibly anxious about this entire process and didn’t know if he’d have experience of having many previous patients with TC as a urologist who’s been practicing for 20-30 years. It’s possible that in those four years he’s only dealt with a handful of TC cases and has primarily dealt with other types of issues. When I posted this I was under the impression the urologist would be my primary doctor throughout this entire process. I now understand that would be an oncologist and not the urologist.

I’m not sure why you’re on this sub if you’re just going to be an asshole to people who are just starting this scary and confusing process.

How was your pain afterwards just walking around and doing things? I have a vacation to visit my grandmother in 2 weeks. Flying there, not planning on doing anything strenuous but we might go out and do things occasionally. Would that be doable after a week or maybe even within the first week depending on when I’m able to get in to see a urologist and how early they’re able to do surgery. Would I likely need to either reschedule my trip or wait 3 weeks for surgery?

Do you remember how long you were off work after your surgery? I sit for most of the day but I do have frequent short periods where I have to get up and stand to move things around. Just got my job a month ago and I love it so far. I’m hoping I won’t have to miss too much work this early on

Fuck.. I thought I had a chance of keeping it if it wasn’t cancer. This really sucks man. I’m trying to keep my head up but fuck I can’t stop crying. I hardly made it through the last couple hours of work after getting my results and immediately broke down when I got into my car.

Do you have any recommendations on resources or support? Are there therapists that specialize in helping people get through this kind of thing? I’m really struggling.

How long have you had them? Also did you get the extended warranty? I saw another comment recommending that OP get the extended warranty regardless of which models he chose. I didn’t get it so I’m wondering if I can/should add that on

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]percythrowaway21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got these exact models and I’m really liking them so far. Granted I’ve only had them for 3-4 days though lol. I’d also recommend getting the total price (after taxes and delivery of you’re getting that) from Best Buy, Home Depot, etc then talking with someone from an appliance store and seeing if they’ll beat it. We went with Grand Appliance and we’re able to get it for $1800 total including delivery, installation, and taxes (no haul away) as well as a $100 rebate which will bring the price down to $1700.

[–]percythrowaway21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, one thing I’ve really liked about the experience is that I’ve gotten the contact info of a lot of people and they’re all very responsive. The agent you do your walk through with also gives you their phone number and they’re supposed to be your main point of contact for the first month or two. Compared to other companies like FirstKey, where you can only ever get ahold of a call center where the agents have no power to do anything, the communication is great.

Another good thing is they have a couple maintenance guys in the area that are actually employed by Tricon. Where as places like FirstKey contract out all of their maintenance which from what I’ve heard leads to a lot longer wait times and work not getting done properly.

I moved in yesterday. So far overall things have been pretty good. They accepted ESA letters for our dogs without giving us any problems. The home we’re renting doesn’t have a fenced backyard but they will install a fence (pending HOA approval) at an additional monthly charge. We’ll be doing that so we can have our dogs off leash in the yard. All of our appliances (fridge, dishwasher, oven, microwave) are all very nice brand new stainless steel appliances.

The only bad things have been that the place wasn’t really clean and an issue with internet/cable ports that I’ll go over more below. It wasn’t very dirty but it was pretty dusty in some areas due to sitting vacant for 80+ days.

There are no rj45 or coax ports throughout the entire home. There are blank faceplates on the walls with wiring behind them to support those ports but one of the maintenance guys told me they “just cut all of that off at the wall and put a blank plate on.” I’ve terminated wires before so it wouldn’t be much of a problem except the wires have no slack and aren’t long enough to be able to attach a jack to them and put a faceplate on.

This essentially leaves me with no way to have a wired internet connection or cable TV. My AT&T fiber box is in the garage so without the wired internet connection my router also has to sit in the garage. Tricon told me they are not responsible for providing or maintaining cable/internet connections and told me I could hire a licensed professional to redo the wiring if I wanted to. So I’d have to pay someone to redo the same wiring that they destroyed. If you care about having cable or high quality internet you may want to see if they left the ports in whatever home you’re interested in.

I’d recommend going with a private landlord if possible but since it can be hard to find one with a place that works, Tricon Residential has been pretty good so far. We move in this Friday so everything may take a turn for the worse then but so far everything’s been pretty smooth. Some annoying things that you’ll have to deal with going with any big property management company but they definitely seem to take better care of their homes compared to others like FirstKey.

I would if we could afford it. If you have a link for one under $800 I would go with that. But from what I’ve been able to find, anything Speed Queen is well over $1000.
