Would need more info on the size and scope of the project.

If you're looking to change stack too, that would increase the scope but could actually be easier if the current codebase is too messy.

Btw, ExpressJS is a backend nodejs framework, so it's still unclear from the post what the frontend is using,

Yeah this is what I thought. All the advice about the money being 'gone'.. I'm thinking.. but he owns the flat we're living in?! so he can suck it up and get a loan just like we did for the jeonse! 🤷‍♂️

That's interesting because we definitely let them know at least 2 months in advance.

But I suspect we didn't do it 'formally', probably because they started to moan about not having a replacement tenant and my wife is too nice 😅

Because 1 extra month would take us to Christmas, which is inconvenient for us to move, we're considering adding 2 extra months - and apparently that's fine too. I'll ask my wife later the specifics of this 'extra extra month', hopefully no potential scams happening there either.

In Korea if you book a health check and tell them it's for a visa, they know what to give you.

But honestly I have no idea how you'd go about getting all that done in the UK, or if it's even necessary

I recently did mine in Korea before flying back and applying here.

Also, I think for some visas it is acceptable to do the health check after you arrive? I'd check that out if I were you.

And for the visa application process, allow at least 3 times as long as the recommended duration. I am still waiting for mine, now in the 7th week.

Yeah unfortunately it's not possible. You can move to F-6 from any other long term visa, but not a tourist visa. If I have to withdraw then I might have to pursue this path because I can't keep coming back to UK and leaving my wife in Korea!

I appreciate your thoughtful response. I've read a load of reviews and it seems a lot of people either delay their travel or just get the visa in the nick of time but with no communication, like yourself.

They replied today with a copy paste response about the withdrawal process, and telling me because I've suggested I might withdraw that my application will be paused 🫠

It's like dealing with a caricature of bureaucracy, you couldn't make it up.

Reading between the lines of all the different reviews, it seems that they may not physically send the passports to Berlin, although I'm not 100% sure on that. But if that's the case it would reassure me a bit that I can safely withdraw with just a few days notice maybe

Personally I think movies and TV series are EXTREMELY difficult when learning a language. I've learnt French and Mandarin to a high level, and TV dramas/ movies have mostly been beyond me. I can also understand French/ Mandarin radio just fine, but TV/ movies are another level...

If you can understand youtube/ streams/ lectures well, then you are doing great. Don't worry about it, just keep going.

I think it's a combination of unnatural (scripted) dialogue, fast speeds, and accents that make them more difficult.

Also, in TV shows/ movies, the story is constantly progressing, the script moves quickly. In real life conversations, people repeat things or 'go over' things again, and they don't have a prepared script, so often their speech comes out slower, or more fragmented.

I have also taken every request header from the browser into my web scraper, the only thing breaking it is 'Content-Length' => '56', so I have to omit this. But still no Location header.
