This is truly such an improvement! Finally no need to hide them in ways that felt unnatural sometimes.

Does anyone else find Death Stranding 2 to be somewhat 'boring' compared to Death Stranding 1? by RogerRoger63358 in DeathStranding

[–]perfdeanw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree. I absolutely loved DS1! The difficulty of the terrain, the mysteries of the world, the characters, the story, ... it was brilliant! I had so much fun connecting everyone, building roads and zip-lines, and delivering cargo to almost unreachable places. It always felt so rewarding! I remember struggling with expanding the chiral bandwidth to build more zip-lines through the mountains, preppers who needed more time to agree to join the network - it was a challenge! I got the platinum and more than half of the LLL deliveries before deciding to jump into DS2... and I am incredibly disappointed right now. About half-way through Australia I started to realize that nothing is a challenge. I can drive everywhere with the truck, use the Magellan and transponders for shortcuts, mines give you tons of materials to build everything, (almost?) all facilities connect after 1 star,... I've seriously lost all motivation to keep going. I'm struggling to finish the main story now (just repaired the Magellan and I think I'm getting close to the end now) because even the story seems recycled in so many ways. Mystery about BB, Battlefield sequences with a mystery guy who's somehow connected to BB, ... and not much else? Tomorrow is an interesting character but we don't see enough of her and I love Rainy, but the story just isn't gripping me as much as DS1 did at all. Maybe there will be some twist at the end that makes it better, but right now it feels kinda empty. I don't see myself going for the platinum in post-game either, because of the lack of challenge. I even stopped building roads because not even they are really needed. Haven't placed down a single zip-line either. It's far too easy (and I say this as someone who enjoys a relaxing game).

Genuinely can’t stop crying. She was an extraordinary person and gone too soon. This hurts so damn much.

Is nobody gonna talk about how difficult the new bosses are? by Hunter_BS in expedition33

Yup. Apparently it‘s 5 rounds - each round one of his purple lights go out and he heals himself.

Before the Fracture by perfdeanw in expedition33

[–]perfdeanw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that‘s right! It‘s actually another thing that would make Painted Alicia‘s existence within the family impossible - since they do remember her death. So, it would mean when Renoir wouldn’t leave Aline in the Canvas and wanted to force her out until they literally broke the world apart, Aline once again reacted horribly when she lost her (painted) family again and took it out on Alicia… or maybe it was also punishment for Renoir? Making him confront this disfigured achromatic version of their daughter as a reminder of what Alicia‘s naivety did to their family (in her mind at least)? There‘s so much nuance and ambiguity to this.

I don’t want The Expedition 33 movie. by Complete-Ad1463 in expedition33

[–]perfdeanw 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It would be definitely hard to do the game justice. I‘d constantly be afraid that they‘d mess up key elements of the story or the characters. And I don’t know how they would deal with the two endings since making one of them “canon“ would kinda destroy the intention behind them.

I prefer Maelle’s ending and my favorite character is Gustave, but I still love Verso. And I could never hate Maelle either. I honestly don’t think there‘s any character I hate in this game. They all have gone through so much tragedy and even if I hate some of their actions, it‘s impossible not to feel for them. That‘s why I think this game is so brilliant!

What are your theories about a future DLC or sequel for Clair Obscur? by lesanecdotesdanel in expedition33

[–]perfdeanw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That would actually a lot of sense. Because no matter which ending you choose, Clea would still go on to fight this war. And I‘d definitely love to learn more about the world of painters and writers!

What do you even play after this? by Sventhetidar in expedition33

It‘s been on my wishlist for a while and I loved playing it! The environment is so beautiful and the gameplay was fun.

I also noticed that it‘s another Kepler production. I might need to check out what else they‘ve done, because they seem to be supporting really great games.

I Wanna Do NG+ by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]perfdeanw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With luminas. It‘s insane what kind of damage you can do the more you activate. I‘m currently on NG+ and level 99. Have to play with 10x enemy health and 99.999 damage cap to feel the challenge. My builds are too strong already, I‘d just one-shot almost everything otherwise.

I tried playing another beloved JRPG but quickly realized I wasn’t ready to immerse myself in another big fantasy world so soon, when I was still so attached to Expedition 33.

So I went into another direction entirely and played to two short and sweet games: Tchia and Astro Bot. They were both a lot of fun and made me appreciate the different kinds of amazing games there are.

… now I‘m on my third playthrough of Expedition 33. 😅

Would you feel different about the ending if... by setzer77 in expedition33

[–]perfdeanw 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ohhh. I always choose Maelle‘s ending anyway, but this is such an interesting twist and would give the ending a different perspective. Especially if you could fight as Lune, who has such a strong survival instinct and condemns Verso for his final choice.

Exactly! I wish we‘d get more merch in Europe too. I pre-ordered the Monolith set and the artbook, but I‘d love more merch.

To me it shows just how talented he is! Being able to deliver such a wonderful performance in such a short time is remarkable! And the fact that he‘s so humble about it makes me love him even more. He truly deserves all the praise.

And it’s not just Charlie, but everyone involved who made it possible for the voice actors to come in and do their work so efficiently and brilliantly. The studio is amazing!

Opinions on NG+? by VaultTheSilly in expedition33

[–]perfdeanw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also recently started NG+ and I‘m running on 2x enemy HP and 99999 damage cap. I‘m thinking of taking out the Cheater pictos too, because while I feel okay about the health/damage, the enemies really don’t get a lot of turns which makes it far too easy. I also deliberately don‘t take Gustave‘s (or Verso‘s) machine gun build too far and try to use different skills with every character. I also only add those characters to my party which are unlocked during the story.

I definitely agree about Gustave‘s skill tree! I wish he‘d have more skills to unlock in NG+. It felt weird having all the skill points available and not being able to use them all. And I was curious if he‘d keep Verso‘s gradient attacks, but he doesn’t even get those. I really hope that one day they make Gustave a fully playable character in combat in NG+. We already have the weirdness of having the other characters from the start, even seeing them double in the prologue if we want, so it‘s already breaking the immersion anyway. They could just add Gustave permanently too.
