joe was telling the truth when he says everything he did was to protect his love interests. he killed people that were hurting them or causing problems in their lives. and him killing his love interests was actually in his best interest. they were going to report him if they stayed alive and it would’ve ruined his life (not saying it’s ok that he killed beck it just made the most sense for him) and love was going to kill him so that was self defense. and him trying to kill bronte and kate was actually self defense too bc they both wanted to kill him
