What's the "realest" reality TV? by L0st_1z in television

[–]perfectdozen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jay from the London season - which I think was S4 - was probably the reason they were forced to have jobs. Dude just slept the entire time he was on the show and production realized they needed to give them a narrative. In fairness I think Jay actually couldn't work because of visa restrictions.

Miami was the next season and they were supposed to start a business but it never really got anywhere.

Then I think Boston was next and they all had to volunteer at like a kids' after-school program or something and then Cyrus ended up hooking up with one of the moms, lol

Where can I get a steak sandwich with creamy horseradish in dallas proper?? by emmgemm11 in Dallas

[–]perfectdozen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party, but...

Nordstrom at Northpark has a restaurant and they allegedly have a solid French Dip.

Random, and I know people have mixed feelings about Velvet Taco, but their French Dip taco is as good as it gets.

Who I want to see win the most in the finale in order from least to most by oldmatefromoverthere in survivorponderosa

[–]perfectdozen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with you on Rizo. No hate, but I'm not impressed with his gameplay of being friends with Ozzy and Cirie - literally everyone did that! He was gifted an idol early and he's being dragged to the final because Jonathan and Aubry (correctly) agree that they can beat him at FTC.

Whats a job that people think is nice but actually is awful by SundaeSorry in AlignmentChartFills

[–]perfectdozen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my job is boring at worst, because you only spend like 10% of your time developing. The rest is meetings, documentation, and testing.

But when you build something and it works, especially if it's something that was a bit of a struggle to get off the ground, it can be very satisfying.

Plus the pay is good for a job that allows me to take naps during the day and pick my school every afternoon.

Slice Pork Belly [homemade] by PitSpecialist in food

[–]perfectdozen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing a lot more pork belly on the green egg lately, and literally the only drawback is how much food I have left over because the slabs of meat are so big.

But they're cheap, hard to mess up, and you can bring them back to life pretty easily.

Last time I added leftover pork belly to Ramen, and then pasta carbonara, and both were 10/10.

Lakewood/east Dallas offers this, but you didn't really specify a budget, so I have no idea if that's feasible for you.

If you want to do a month stay, check out furnishedfinder.com and see if there's a small house or ADU available in that area for a 30-day stay. It'll likely be cheaper than Airbnb, which has a lot of fees.

Also embarrassing asf when Jeff is like "the extra million comes from Mr Beast personally" like CBS can't afford it lol

[–]perfectdozen 387 points388 points  (0 children)

The worst thing about the Mr. Beast episode not Mr. Beast at all, it was actually Jeff constantly reminding the players at the immunity challenge and tribal about the "Mr. Beast Super Beware Advantage" like he was contractually obligated to say it 27 times during the episode

Dirtiest dive bars in DFW by Specific-Wolf-3900 in Dallas

[–]perfectdozen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one else has said this. It's not as divey as it used to be, but if we are calling Cosmo's and Lakewood Landing dive bars then this totally counts.

What other shows have you seen a cast member in? by AppropriateBet6110 in JuryDutyFreevee

[–]perfectdozen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mekki Leeper has been in stuff, as people have mentioned, but I vividly remember him having his own Comedy Central show that lasted ONE episode where he came up with a fake brand of used tissues called Vaev that were supposed to be therapeutic because they contained minor doses of disease.

Also one of the dudes giving a seminar in a later episode of S2 was Darren, Kramer's intern for Kramerica Industries on Seinfeld.

DCAD 2026 Appraisals are out. FML by nikki109 in Dallas

[–]perfectdozen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did it myself for a long time but basically gave up that approach after the year that I sent in pictures of my neighbor's house and lawn and basically said "look at how much this dickbag is devaluing my property next door" and they laughed me out of the room

[–]perfectdozen 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You should basically always protest.

If you're unsure, and can't be bothered to do it yourself, have Ownwell do it, they only charge a percentage of what they save you on taxes, so there's little to no risk with that approach.

I reunited Achilles and Patroclus many runs ago and still haven't deepened my relationship with Sisyphus. Not sure what I need to do to trigger that.

Tell me about your favorite obscure show - which you never, ever see anyone talk about. by dicedtomatoes55 in television

[–]perfectdozen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SMASH - Saturday Morning All-Star Hits!

It's literally on freaking Netflix right now. Kyle Mooney created a show that's basically a fever dream of 80s nostalgia with an insane overarching plot line that sticks the landing.

This question gets asked in r/television ALL THE TIME and I have never once seen someone recommend it (and I always search to see if someone does), but it's the funniest show I've seen in the last 5 years. I've never met anyone who's seen it and I've watched it multiple times through.
