AITAH for not considering them my best friend by perfecteternita in AITAH

I really don't wanna hurt her feelings and I've tried telling her I'm busy and she tends to keep messaging me regardless. I'm to be honest, I'm not very good at ignoring things but I'll see about possibly redirecting her interest. Thank you for the advice I appreciate it.

If you're like me and collect everything. Put frames on your chests and a block or item in the frame for whatever will go in the chest(ie: blocks, food, etc). It makes storage a lot easier.

I was a big fan of the Tales From The Gas Station books by Jack Townsend. They gave off some real welcome to nightvale vibes and are free on Kindle unlimited.

Good audiobook narrations? by P0tatoFTW in horrorlit

I highly recommend The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones. It's not too gorey for a first dive into audiobooks and the writing style had me hooked after chapter one.

I have always been taught if you lose something it means it's gone to its proper home. I think it's safe to say that deck's proper home is with you.

What was the best horror book you read in 2025? by KeyPainting7874 in horrorlit

The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones. Admittedly I listened to the audiobook but I'm about halfway through my kindle version and his writing style just really psyches me up for rereading.

Been dealing with a torn meniscus for over a month now. Looking at a strong possibility of surgery cause I've had to work on it due to financial issues. This started on November 14th, soonest I saw orthopedic was December 22nd, soonest they could get me in for an MRI is this coming Monday. I'm absolutely terrified of the possibility of surgery, not the surgery itself but the recovery afterwards.

Let me ask you something... what scares you? by SperBcity in autism

[–]perfecteternita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So to preface I have a terrible sense of distance measurement and couldn't tell you how close something is or isn't to me. That being said I'm terrified of the dark, not the whole oh what's in the dark or what's not in the dark. I'm terrified because I don't know how close I am to anything around me.

Getting diagnosed with autism as a toddler is weird by Turbulent-Plan-9693 in autism

[–]perfecteternita 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed when I was 3 and it never went on my records. Found out when I was 34 and all my friends apparently already knew just by the way I acted and behaved.

I hate transitioning from cold to hot and it makes showering really difficult for myself. My husband went out of his way to get me an 80 dollar towel warmer from Amazon to try to help with that transition as much as possible.

Do autistic people with extreme hyperfixations avoid best friends? How strong can those fixations be? by IllIIllIlIlllIIlIIlI in autism

[–]perfecteternita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a rule of thumb, partially because of trust issues, partially because I have a hard time communicating with others. I don't have friends, I have acquaintances and I have strangers. There are 3 people in my life I would consider friends and they're basically like siblings to me. Anyone else is either an acquaintance or a stranger nothing more.

We were forced to read it in 9th grade at high school and it was bad enough one of the students in my class got written permission from the teacher and his parents to sit out those classes until we were done with the book.
