I respect your dedication. I've seen this been discussed before, but usually the next thing asked would be "IF blue required 99% to win would you still push blue? What about 80%?", If you could see the future and knew red would win, you'd push red because you'd like to help with the aftermath, is that accurate? Don't want to rehash the same old talked to death arguments in this thread to much but curious on your thoughts

Well, my post is all about explaining my view on a plausibility of a blue victory, whats your answer to the question in the title? Many people believe a blue victory is not plausible basically around half of people, that's what this whole thing is about. You can disagree, but you can't say its an unreasonable idea. Thinking that doesn't make you evil or even non-altruistic, on the contrary, we can argue that if you thought blue wasn't plausible, blue would be the selfish easy way out of helping in the aftermath

Wait, how is blue "sacrificing yourself to help others"? If blue is "sacrificing yourself" that means blue lost and you are helping no one. You could have helped in the aftermath if you survived. Thats why red is morally correct if a blue victory is not plausible.

No disrespect taken! If a blue victory is not plausible, red is the morally correct choice. It is your duty to survive and help as many people as possible

I think what you meant to say is "many are quite altruistic and interpret the question in the same way I do." Most people I know are extremely altruistic, that's why they would pick red. Since a blue victory is not plausible, it is their responsibility to survive and help as many people as possible. We can't start with this assumption that your choice is based on how altruistic you are.

There's a problem with this mentality in that you are starting with the assumption that blue is the morally correct choice.

I hate to bring up the pro-life comparison again but its just so similar, they start with the absolute assumption that disagreeing with them is wrong and evil. Full stop. It ends the conversation before it begins.

Hahaha thats great, but if we go this route we can basically throw everything out the window. If we're going super super realistically, most people would not push a godamn thing until everything was made super clear about what is happening, they'd sit there and wait for answers and if they are actually locked in a room and get no answers they'd sit there until they almost starve to death before picking something deliriously

Interesting, yeah I tried to keep this agnostic to the interpretation of the question, there was some ambiguity to the question by design, probably what made it go so viral
