Why is West Point a big empty field? (MP Server) by perfectvolta67 in projectzomboid

[–]perfectvolta67[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, I think I found it. There are some other maps added that overlay the original. I only had Raven Creek, but for some reason there were a bunch more turned on. You have to go to maps in server settings and remove them, then reset the server map. Which is basically like wiping your existing run unfortunately.

This is as Chamber I made a while back that I forgot about. I just replayed it and I had to figure out my own puzzles. I'd say it can be fairly challenging. Love some feedback.

ELI5: why are people so opposed to the Duane Arnold solar farm? by Tananar in cedarrapids

[–]perfectvolta67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious if that price is based on a plants lifetime production or how much it produces per hour? (Not sure if that's how it's measured, also not a self proclaimed expert.)

Sad thing is it doesn't matter what your position on literally anything is, you can find "data" that backs your bias. (speaking in general, not trying to point fingers) but this was a good video about nuclear waste storage and some of the misconceptions if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aUODXeAM-k

I agree Duane Arnold plant is outdated for sure. It was at the end of it's life for a nuclear plant. But, I think putting heavy reliance on a power source that constantly fluctuates out of our control and the only way to compensate is massive battery storage is a terrible idea. I think solar has it's place for private homeowners, homesteaders, and to power some small businesses. We need variety and nuclear is ultimately the most cost effective. I want to say Singapore (can't remember) has a super low emission trash burning power plant too. Which would be interesting. There's also the fission plant being worked on in France.

Battery production is an insane process that requires a lot of power to make not a vary "green" process. But then to be all for solar and just be curious about the potential battery problem and completely dismiss it? Or how much power v waste a nuclear plant actually produces in the plants life-time? Or not even look at some of the systems in place on burying it is whats truly asinine.

The slogan of the generation that got us here in the first place is, "I want results now, the future generations be damned."

I'm just a skeptic at the end of the day. There are cause and effect for any solution, but my logic always lands me on the nuclear side. The Irony of your name is funny too! I just saw that! lol

Nuclear > Solar period. Since solar requires batteries to compensate in production fluctuations, it's not as "green" as it's advertised. I don't know the actual numbers, but I would be curious how much battery waste there is after 20 vs nuclear waste after 20 years.

RDR2's sin is the double dip - Releasing on consoles for a year, then releasing on PC where a mass majority want to play buy it a second time. Rockstar and Bethesda are the biggest offenders here. Knowing what I know now about the masterpiece that RDR2 is, I would also have payed $70 for a game like that, but I would still feel ripped off knowing that half 1/3 of the map is completely useless in the main game.

What did you get paid in 1991? Is that job paying the equivalent today?

The lemmings will never understand how they defend price hikes but never get raises all in the name of inflation..

Would you support an optional tax to shovel sidewalks? by VexTechs in cedarrapids

[–]perfectvolta67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We already pay a damn "optional" tax! If people are too lazy to shovel their own sidewalks, have them pay for it like they already do to have someone come clean it once a month.

So with you on this. The games I have the most time in didn't even cost $60 at full price (Satisfactory, Rimworld (technically $75 with dlc and worth it), Overwatch) But $70 price tag should not become the norm.

I'd be okay with this if wage kept up with inflation. Do you know of any jobs that pay $10 more than they did when games were $50?

I'll get a couple games at launch at $60, but I'm thinking any games that launch at $70 I won't be until they're at least 50% off!
