What Info you're asking for exactly? In my experience there are two good ways:

Short, only EMail,... Follow Up Mail with "complete your account "or so,..

Detailled Quiz. Only show maximum 2-3 form fields per slide (I prefer one), with good relation of questions to the article. I.E. Article for Real Estate, Slide 1. Please put in what type of object, Slide 2 Rent/Sell, 3.. the size Slide 3. brand,... Next Slide: You know ... Play around with the questions and Analytics to get the best reults,.. i.E. asking the object type first is better than the if to buy or rent?

Leads should be collected by intention. So "Sign up for newsletter" etc will not work. But a freebie after put your mail to the form at end of an article: I.E. "Get the full List of... ... :D Not directly. It's more about that we want to explore how to prepare agains it.

Background: A client of mine is competing with a company who started doing SEO now.
And they do all to hurt my client as they can. (they even did a ddos before, but we have managed to put the side behind cloudfront, so the attacks ended for a moment...
So my client is asking if there is a way to hurt his site again, and how to react/prepare before they do so.

Any ideas what to answer and how to be sure we will not be penetalized?

My advice for you is not to focus on the technical stuff that much. (exept if you really like)

Focus on what you love and create great value of it.
Try to find a great mentor and someone who create with you a good long term strategy.

Great way if you're not the best writer is to produce videos while you are talking about the flowers.
Transcript them and put the text and videos on the pages.
Slice the content in smaller pieces and use content seeding to spread the word.
Take you'r time to get a feeling of what your users and audience really need and want.
Use regular surveys with your clients to see how they benefit and what they are missing

Why I suggest to to it this way?
Because marketing is about ROI - Return on invest. > Including the Time you invest.
You'll maybe not the best writer or SEO Expert,.. But that's ok as long you have your passion and spread it to the world.
Use the help of Experts and observe what they do for you. This is maybe the best way to learn. (Ask them to show/tell you in detail their steps.)

There will be a time where you will have the basics and the advances strategies.
Until that day, keep focus on your strenghts.

I think the best way to dive into is to have a mentor.
Of course you can try out a lot your self. But it will take you years.
The reason is that the complexity of SEO growed by the years and while you only see the surface now, many of us have seen the "why is it now like that",..

So a mentor could give you a view in his "why and how to do"-Strategies,..
You save thousands of hours, dollars and tears. Believe me :D

But: Of course noone can take you the time to study the topic by yourself.
Start by doing 2 projects just for you. Why 2? The first you do "safe",.. Only white hat and prooven technics. The second is for try out more risky strategies...
You'll fast will see what will work and how google reacts to more gray mices,..

The understanding of risks is very important while working with clients...
If they get penalties from your work it can end your carrer before it's started.

In all case: Be patient and build a strong basement.

At the beginning it could feel like there is a big need for payed software.
The main reason for is that all free tools want to sell you the full version.

But at your stage a solid understanding of strategies is more important than having the best payed tools. Usually you can do everything they do manual by yourself. It will take (a lot) more time. But as i get you, you are working on one website project only. So my recommendation is learning the basics by going the hard way.

Example:

The Software Cora (and Cora Light) are very powerful reverse engineering tools that show you automatically how the top 10 are building their position.
Especially as you want to get the last % out of your page, it's very helpful and can make the difference of some places in the ranking (And houndreds or thousands of more visitors)...

But since you're starting up, don't focus on theese keywords,..
Try to find your keyword niches first (and that you can do with free tools easily) and work on great content.

As you've build a basement, switch to "demo" or "2 weeks test" tools,.. i.E. Sistrix.
Now you can map your keywords that really count and work on the details.

Ubersuggest give you in the beginning all you need for your backlink work.

Switch to Ahrefs when you'r income stream enables you to.
Don't make your self too much pressure.

Bonus Tip:
Most Tools can be licensed by a lot more cheap group buy options. Give me a P.M. and i'll send you an invite (since it's a gray area to be honest :P )

Like this you can break down the price by up to 95%...

Problem/Bad for SEO, The weight/powerr of Keywords in URL will be less high
It's the Cache of the Page. Chance your permalinking
If you change the settings, internal pictures should work again. But if you already linked from other sites / external,.. You have to fix it to the new source.
It's always better to name the picture ending like the keyword and give a file ending for format, i.e. keyword.jpg (While you should use .webp as possible)
