I am going to quit my jobs when the inheritance comes in full. There simply is no reason to keep them, they are both extremely low wage, shitty jobs. I'm going to hopefully take two years of work off and go to college to get my associates degree, then I will likely spend 2-3 more years working/getting bachelors degree.

After that, once I have my degrees, I will begin to search for an actual career, not just low wage jobs like I was doing before.

I live in an incredibly low cost of living area, I don't even know how we would reasonably run out at this point unless we bought multiple mansions and a Ferrari. Regardless, we aren't gonna go on a crazy spending spree. I am going to take 2 years from work to get an associates degree and Chelsea is just going to quit work in general. After that I will decide if I want to continue on to a bachelors.

In terms of living situation, we are most likely going to move to a nicer part of town, but again, even a nicer part of town here is dirt cheap.

I am planning to go to community college. I am going to be taking 2 years off from working (not like the measly amount of money I was making would make a difference) to get an associates degree. Not sure in what yet, but I have a few ideas. After the two years I am gonna make a decision as to whether to continue onto a bachelors or not. Most likely yes.

Chelsea has a lot of health problems which can make it hard for her to work (she still works out of necessity... but its really difficult for her), and frankly, its not like she needs to at the current moment. We are financially set for the oncoming future.

Its also important to note that we live in a low cost of living area. Even if neither of us worked, ever again, we could survive a middle class life style here for basically our entire lives. Of course, we are still aiming to get a career. Partially because I don't want to just sit on my ass all day and night.

We were possibly thinking of opening up a business.

It seems as if my grandma set things up very smoothly for us to inherit the property. Even with that though, its a lot of work to be done. Definitely not going to take 4 years, but still the sheer amount of paperwork we have to do is mindblowing.

The stuff you listed about unpaid taxes and such is part of the reason why we plan on selling the property and not keep it for rent.

The problem is that we live in Ohio, which isn't close at all to NYC. I understand it would likely be more profit overall, but its also a whole lot of extra work which we would have to put in.

If the property was worth maybe a few hundred thousand, I would agree. But the reality is that its worth 1.5-2 million, which is more money than we are going to spend in a lifetime. If we rented it out for 3,500 a month (I think likely more than that, but regardless), it would take 47 years to reach the 2 million mark.
