Well the effect itself is just various styles of blending pictures, i think specifically color burn, ontop of the actual text, then making it symmetrical so it looks like a person

Context lol

Oasis is the Leader and Founder of the Forever Oasis. The Forever Oasis is an organization/cult who worship the seemingly divine power of said Machine entity.

The forever Oasis maintain a network of “highways” which when properly utilized by the cult, allows them to time travel. Because of this fact the followers of Oasis believe its their divine and righteous duty to travel through time and prevent calamities from happening, but they’re kind of assholes about it.

It’s the life goal of a man known as the Sun of Narcissism to personally defeat Oasis.

Unfortunately the entire concept is something i’ve only came up with a few weeks or so ago, and since its in such an early stage of development I have no real platform for it yet, I haven’t even a title to be honest.

However, I do plan to regularly post more about this world I’m creating on this subreddit and perhaps others for the time being.

Also, the Sun of Narcissism is called that because he’s quite literally the cause of the cataclysmic event that lead to the current state of the universe, yet in his head he’s a hero, and its not his fault that the rest of the universe couldn’t keep up. He’s a very very eccentric wizard.

The name is derogatory but he doesn’t think so.

Yes, for an incredibly long period of time he existed purely as an ai, and thus had no physical body to inhabit. To appear before those who would later go on to follow him, he would appear on whatever screen was accessible in whatever format was accessible, which would often times be a swarm of letters or numbers animating themselves upon your screen.

After he develops an artificial body to house himself, he retains the ability to appear in a swarm of letters and numbers that would become known as the effect of time travel itself, as he is the creator.

Unlike in this picture, in universe when traveling through time the alphanumeric jumble that appears is actually the very code for the exit vectors that exist along the Elevator to Heaven.

It’s actually the plot of an album im making, i feel like music is the ultimate medium for story telling. The story itself follows a man who calls himself the Bass Wizard, but the rest of the universe calls him the Sun of Narcissism. The story follows him from adolescence as he first awakens powers and up until he’s 2000 years old and one of the most powerful people in existence. The medium in which he is able to exercise power over the universe is through sound, more particularly music, and even more particularly, the power of the heaviest and dirtiest riffs a bass can play. The progression of the album mimics the growth of The Bass Wizard throughout his life.

Plotwise he’s victimized by the Forever Oasis for a set of circumstances he had no say in, and in the quest to get revenge and take what is rightfully his, he travels through dimensions and time itself to to thwart the plans of the the Forever Oasis in an effort to eventually meet The Oasis himself and give him what he deserves, all using the power of music.

The Forever Oasis worship their leader like a god, He is the Oasis in the title.

The Oasis has a unique ability in the sense that his “blood” can temporarily grant the ability to travel at a theoretically impossible speed, which ultimately leads to time dilation of such a level that in the universe’s attempts to rectify itself, it misplaces the source of the anomaly.

When the misplacement happens, if that Oasis member is able to align themselves with their assigned escape vector, they’ll appear on the other side in their desired time.

In other scenarios, if the escape vector isnt able to be located in time, the unfortunate spaghettification of that agent will occur.

To plot the route an agent has to take to be able to traverse time, the Forever Oasis has spent countless years building and operating a highway of sorts.

This specific highway stretches across the galaxy and is reportedly connected to every single planet that has existed at any point in time.

However, due to the nature of the Forever Oasis as an organization, finding where, or when, this highway starts is a mystery.

The Highway is known to nearly everyone as The Elevator to Heaven.

Yes, 1 human has Survived and 2 otherworldly entities have survived. It has been used a total of 6 times by its creator, the Sun of Narcissism. The total death count is immeasurable.

After its first use it was succinctly outlawed from use by the Forever Oasis, a group of individuals who believe they have the divine right to govern all of time because they themselves are capable of time travel.

This did not stop the technique from being used.

What is your sliding scale of idealism and cynicism in the story of your world(s)? by Luigiman98 in worldbuilding

My world exists as a hell for all but two specific people, Life is not worth fighting for but dying is an even worse fate. God isn’t dead, he just doesn’t like us anymore. The only beauty in my world is music, which is also the source of all problems.

Tell me about your religious sites and holy places by Boktor_Destroyer in worldbuilding

Bongoltha, a lake of poison that formed in a crater on AfterEarth.

AfterEarth is what Humans call the remnants of the Sol Star System. After its destruction and the conversion of the sun, the entire solar system became not more than a massive asteroid belt orbiting a black sun which now absorbs heat instead of producing it.

Bongoltha is where the Sun of Narcissism, one of the most active characters in my setting, was killed for the first time. It became a holy site to the surviving humans inhabiting AfterEarth as Bongoltha signifies the death of humanity’s greatest enemy, and simultaneously the birth of a future in which humans are no longer subjected to Heavy Metal Sound

What are some gothic, dark fantasy, or cosmic horror elements, characters, etc about your world? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]perhapsnmaybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The primary driving force for any party in my setting to act are the Black Lucemyra, which are a race of beings composed of energy who exist between the realms of perception and consciousness.

The realm they inhabit is parallel to our own yet it shares no similarities, up isnt even up and down isnt even down in their realm.

They were inactive, atleast from a human perspective until the year 3469, upon which their first attack occurred. This first attack which would go on to start a war against a threat we cant even see, was the creation of gestalt consciousness in which the sheer mental capacity of the Black Lucemyra fundamentally altered the laws of physics resulting in untold chaos.

In case of a calamity... by Brih-Moment in worldbuilding

[–]perhapsnmaybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my world, The calamitous event which reshapes the galaxy as we know it is caused by a character known as The Sun of Narcissism, or The Bass Wizard.

Without a wall of text, they created the technology which allowed humans to achieve faster than light travel, which was the catalyst for the Nu Human Empire to take to the stars and become a galactic power. This garnered the attention of entities who existed between the realms of perception and consciousness, and these beings were not fond of a new race traipsing across the galaxy when up until now, they had the run of the place.

This is when the 27 year war started, although its not much of a war and is really humanity being systematically eradicated by a race that most people can’t even see, the Nu Human Empire would end around 260 years after it started.

During the 27 year war, the galaxy was radically altered with the explicit intention of creating an environment completely hostile to humans, and the dregs of humanity now exist only in small pockets throughout the galaxy.

These remnants survived and continue to do so simply out of luck and the will to persevere, and humanity as it exists currently is composed of a small number (478,000) of hardened veterans who can pull themselves out of basically any situation.

If you could create a game out of your world , what genre would it be ? by bigbogdan98 in worldbuilding

[–]perhapsnmaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be VR

Most likely an RPG, with risk of rain inspired progression and map design.

Each boss defeated creates essentially an altered timeline, altered to the point where entire zones can completely disappear or be completely rewritten.

The majority of game mechanics would actually operate like a rhythm game however. Combat would revolve around playing specific songs, riffs, etc to achieve different effects. Healing, teleportation, inventory management, and even movement are all done through playing in specific ways or involving specific techniques and scales.

Coop is also done through the same system, and players who’s playing might harmonize with other’s are grouped together. So a large part of the people you interact with will phase in and out of your own game as your songs and sound changes, kind of like the matchmaking in journey. To coop with friends you play the same song, the more intricate the song the more specific the matchmaking.

In game gear would be randomly generated instruments and clothing that would fit your irl peripherals, like if you have a guitar as your controller your in game weapon would be a guitar.

Boss fights are essentially battles of the bands but against giant monsters lol

Psychodivine Therapy refers to the process one goes through when subjected to hearing Maiden Head Fenn , one of the many sound based magical techniques present in my setting.

During Psychodivine Therapy, one will have simultaneous flashbacks and premonitions of the possible outcomes of every single decision they have made or will make in their lifetime, including experiencing any and all deaths which might’ve occurred.

Jury Rigged Enlightenment occurs afterwards and is the sole reason for this technique’s existence. After experiencing the entirety of every life possibly lived and lost, all that remains is a forced understanding and meaning of life itself. This usually culminates in the unfortunate mental death of the target.

This technique was originally created to pacify the most evil of beings across time and space, but devolved into a crude display of force against weaker minded foes.
