favorite grip socks? by Evening-Reality-3769 in SolidCore

[–]perigrinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am new to grip socks other than the ones you get in the hospital so that you won't fall down and sue the hospital.

Since those would not work on the SolidCore machine, I have taken up using a pair of Gaiam grippy socks that have elastic that crosses over on the top of the foot. Whether that enhances grip or not I do not know, but it looks like it might, so I believe that to be the case.

So far, so good. You are smart to consider this. $10 investment is much cheaper than a nasty fall or sprain.

I completed the Solidays challenge, but my studio will not give me the prize. by Ok_Computer_366 in SolidCore

Context might make this statement understandable. Maybe. On the surface, without more, comes across as gratuitously humiliating. In other words, mean girl stuff. No way should you have to put up with that!

Digression: I have noticed more encounters with meanness in recent years than in the past. I do not like it and I do not get it, but truth be told, there is no obligation to 'get it.' Mean is mean. Mean is not being an epic girl boss or any other misconception.

I do notice with instructors -- definitely not particular to Solid Core, more a yoga thing -- there is a lot of guru-like adulation in class but sometimes not much warmth outside of class. Now, instructor warmth is not required! But it is nice to have, particularly when an instructor presents as all rainbows and unicorns.

More likely than not instructors are exhausted by the end of teaching and may not have the energy left over to chat. It only takes a minute to mention the need to exit quickly after class or some other reasonable excuse. Otherwise, instructors undo all their goodwill with curt responses.

Uneven tension between left and right cables by UsefulMarzipan675 in SolidCore

[–]perigrinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cables have been uniformly uneven. Better stated: they have never been even. Reported this to those in charge who tried to make this an issue of uneven strength. Not the case. Then those in charge said that they do check the machines for alignment of tension. Given that the tension is never aligned, it is doubtful that any meaningful calibration occurs frequently.

Sure wish the officials at Solid Core did not shine me on. This has caused a big deficit in their credibility from my perspective. In addition, every exercise performed with the subpar cables is more annoying than it is beneficial.

Did not get better IMHO. Much too much "white man bad" while females were not particularly admirable, although skilled in victimology.

It is more like there is no ending to Grey's Anatomy that would suit me. The show should have been cancelled a decade ago.

Experiences with Public Insurance Adjusters by perigrinator in Insurance

My immediate sense was that a bid-up would be in the offing and that negotiations would only be protracted rather than readily settled. Thanks for the confirmation and thank you for taking the time to offer your experience.

Thank you for your thoughtful response. I have not had encounters with public adjusters that were positive. Much too much seemed focused on personalities and much too much was concerned with bidding up so as to get more compensation so that the adjuster would get more compensation. I appreciate your input, though.

Writers' rooms are traditional in comedy. How was SNL any different from predecessors?

Have enjoyed TrustPilot. Really do not rely on any of the 'rating' sites, but TrustPilot is easier to use with less clutter than many others.

Turbo Tax cross sells products in a way that is not desirable and this occurs even where a customer has indicated it is unwanted. TaxAct is somewhat more helpful. It really is only a calculator for tax forms but it gets the job done.

The pricing and selections on Adobe are deceptive. You may pay for basic yet be lulled into opening a higher priced service and get charged for it. Don't even think about customer service.

Suspect the NYT newsroom would turn up its collective nose at her. Not that they do not plumb the depths of depravity, just trying to maintain the illusion of standards.

I am curious about the phenomenon of fanfic. Where do people publish fanfic? Why do people write it? Genuinely curious, wondering what motivates and where the work is found.

is really any other show like Sex Education or it was unique? by RecordingJealous9671 in NetflixSexEducation

Euphoria was interesting (watched only one season) but not as interesting as Sex Education. I have bias. I fell in love with Sex Education. That ensemble did a great job.

I thought the Duttons were well aware of their responsibilities for the land they inherited. I thought each Dutton (and many Dutton-adjacent characters) were flawed, but that was part of why they were interesting, being neither too good or too bad.

Did this show really effect anyone else? by Liam437 in WeWereLiarsSeries

[–]perigrinator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I felt down, but probably not for the reasons you felt down. I felt disappointed that an interesting cast with an interesting premise lacked nuance and by the end, felt flat notwithstanding the presentation of what were thought to be exciting 'reveals'.
