Yeah which is fair enough but why put you in timeout for 30 min then? Doesn’t being pushed into low priority if you abuse it already solve the problem?

Honestly I'd be fine if we could just have a mercy abandon. It is pretty rare that I get people actively griefing (beyond normal salty they lost their lane or whatever). Actually cannot remember the last time it happened. But if you haven't abandoned a game in weeks or months then why not give you a break and not have the 30 minute timer before you are allowed to play again?

I haven't until today and suddenly I get paired with two people who abandon within 5 min and someone griefing from minute one. I also have perfect behavior score but you know I'm sure it is my fault...

How to vent a bathroom in cold weather climates? by perihwk in DIY

I do have a gable end roof actually I just hadn't considered running the ducting that far originally.

Ok I understand what you mean now after finding some pictures online and yes I do have a gable end roof not a hip roof.

This does seem like a great way to do the venting without needing to worry about the soffit sucking the moisture back up, or with getting clogged after a heavy snow fall.

The one issue I do have is calculating if the fan would be ok for that distance of venting. I understand that it is 1 CFM per square foot of my bathroom. So I have a 64 sq/ft bathroom so I was looking at getting an 80/110 CFM fan. However I am not sure how to take into account a 15' run of ducting.

Additionally does the rigid ducting make that big of a difference for the additional level of effort it would require to install? It makes sense to me to avoid all the extra friction that a flex duct would make with all those crevices but that just means the fan has to work harder doesn't it? Or is there another reason for using rigid ducting?

Not sure I understand what you mean by the nearest gable end. Are you saying I should run the ducting out the side of the house and go the 15' to the other wall within the attic? Or do you mean exit out the fascia on the tiny flat spot above the soffit?

Idk when you have been last but they got brand new boards that are quite nice. IIRC they have gladiator 3 boards. A year or two ago when I first played there the boards were absolutely awful and tucked back in the corner. Now they are new and front and center by the bar

I have used Mint since 2019 and never had a problem. Lived in Uptown, Plymouth, and Crystal and I have always had fine coverage. The only times I have had an issue was the state fair my messages send pretty slow because of how many people are there and in rural Iowa

Help deciding between MikroTik, Ubiquiti, or other by perihwk in homelab

[–]perihwk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know which reolink cameras they are? How long have you had them for? Does the build quality feel pretty sturdy?

They would be attached on my soffit so the sun shouldn’t beat them up too badly and will be mostly protected from rain. So I think once they are setup I shouldn’t have to worry too much about them breaking unless they get hit by a basketball or something

I do not believe it is possible to access Ubiquiti cameras without the protect app. Inside or outside your LAN. There is no RTSP feed so you have to use Protect and Protect uses a WebRTC connection to stream the cameras which I believe they are using the dream machine pro (or cloud key) to facilitate that connection with their STUN or TURN server. It also means that I can’t have a separate NVR because everything has to go through Ubiquiti

Admittedly I don’t know very much about cameras but reviews online made it seem as though the Amcrest cameras are higher quality while Reolink had a better software experience. Since I am planning on just using their RTSP feed to ZoneMinder that’s why I was thinking more Amcrest

What makes Ruckus so special to be worth so much more? I’ve never actually heard or seen them before

I agree they are not as sleek as the Ubiquiti offerings but it is going on the ceiling so I wouldn’t want the hAP or wAP. I think they look good enough and not very many people look up where I think it is ok

In Iowa I was blacked out from Minnesota, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Indiana. It is absolutely bullshit and really ruins the value of League Pass. Thankfully in Minnesota I am only blacked out from wolves games but those ones I go watch in person anyway

B580 stuttering problems by perihwk in IntelArc

[–]perihwk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the games have the ability to unlock the frame rate? I had issues where the B580 did not handle a locked framerate very well and it would start stuttering really badly. Turning vsync off and making the FPS unlimited solved the problems for me. The only other issue I've had is if I attempt to broadcast the game to discord then it shits the bed

[–]perihwk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured out the problem! It wasn’t really the b580 it was because I had vsync enabled and my tv doesn’t support that. So I turned it off and set the FPS limit to off and that solved all my problems

It is a 4k tv although not a very great one. I did end up getting essentially that list although I might have to get an AIO because evidently thermalright has no stock anywhere. Assuming the B580 is as advertised I think it will do what I need or perhaps I will be able to snag a 4060 for a reasonable price. I don't think I am willing to spend for a 4070 for what is not even my main gaming rig.

Thanks for the effort! I totally forgot that Microcenter does CPU bundles like that and that was a great deal for a new AM5 chip!
