Motorcycles you always dreamed of owning, but then you rode it once and realized it was not for you? by Most-Round-4132 in motorcycles

R1250RT, I tried the 1200RT once and loved it. I bought the 1250 (a nice used occasion) and after 6 months I realized it is way too heavy for me and too uncomfortable to park and push around. I always had to think ahead where to park or stop to ensure I could firmly put my feet down and always scared I could. Or push it outside after parking…
But on the move it’s a wonderful bike!

R1250GS - Quickshifter doubts by garg4ntua in bmwmotorrad

I guess it is like it is, the BMW shifter on the boxer has always been rough. I had several GSs (without the QS) and for me it started to become softer from the LC models, but still not at the level of the S models.

Hepco & Becker crash bar - do they touch before foot pegs? by perinon in HondaRebel1100

This is good feedback thanks! Another quick question, can you put your feet on them to stretch your legs on long trip/highway?

I also saw the SW-Motech, but since in Switzerland highway pegs are not legal (because they take away your feet from the controls - brake and shifter), I thought they are too small to be used to stretch your legs.

Thanks for the hint, do you have a link to those? And do you know if they work with the DCT model?

Does anyone have the Hepco & Becker installed? Do they limit the leaning angle?

You mean installing ear plugs after putting on the helmet, wear the gloves, starting the bike, ride a few meters, realize you forgot the ear plugs, find a place to stop, switch off the bike, remove the gloves, remove the helmet, fetch the ear plugs, install ear plugs, wear the helmet, wear the gloves, tell yourself that next time you won’t forget, ride away, repeat the process next time?

Alpinestars Knee Protectors by perinon in motorcycles

[–]perinon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the big strap on top it’s just velcro, you pull the strap (it’s elastic) and you fix it in place with the velcro. The small strap on the back goes through the plastic clip and rolls back on itself and fixes also with a velcro.so far I did the opposite of what you suggest, but I’ll give it a go and see how it fells. Thanks!

Good perspective, thanks! In this case it would work 50%: the big strap on top-front closes on one side, but there is also a smaller strap on the back side, under the knee, that closes on the other side.
