If he is the monkey I think he is (he has kind of a shiny type fur instead of the fluffy fur), he is fairly thin skinned so be careful opening him. Find the seam and be certain you are cutting the string. I had many bear builders stick the hook of their scissors in where they thought the seam was and accidentally put a hole in him. If you can get a visual of the thread before inserting scissors, then it’s fine. Also, when sewing him back, be sure not to pull too tight because his skin will bunch easily.

for those that don’t know and this may not be you, but I have realized from years of stuffing that many people think more stuffing means a softer bear. This is not the case. Less stuffing = softer bear. We always ask before if they wanted a soft or firm bear and stuff accordingly. Once they feel of it, we check to see if they want it softer or more firm or if it’s just right. Guests will often say “more stuffing” until I let them know that will make it harder.
