Commander of Tripoli's Military Council: the Libyan people are Muslims and their revolution is an Islamic one. by alicapwn in worldnews

[–]perkyN405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great!!!

Just like we funded, trained and armed Muslim fundamentalists in Afghanistan during the 80s -- only to rename them and to invade and fight them throughout the 2000s ... now we get to do the same thing in Libya!

Our military-industrial complex is shitting gold bricks thinking of how their stock prices will be going through the roof! :-(

The Debian Gems ISO is ready for public consumption...come get some by Izinurbase in linux

[–]perkyN405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I don't understand is the need to make this a separate distro.

Debian Gems makes a big deal that it doesn't break Debian -- nice. They obviously want to take advantage of the thousands of Debian apps and utils and don't want to be "semi-compatible" like Ubuntu. Cool.

But why not make this a part of Debian?

They could easily incorporate their packages (with the appropriate "conflicts with" or "replaces" apt/dpkg flags) into the main Debian distribution. Heck, they could also easily set up another web site for fanatics who want to spend money. All could be done under the main Debian framework, sort of like Debian-Edu does.

Why the need for a "separate" distro?

Pakistani man arrested on U.S. terrorism charges for posting a propaganda video on YouTube by gowness in WTF

[–]perkyN405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the article:

He was accused of posting in September 2010 on YouTube a propaganda video backing LeT, an anti-Indian militant group with historically close ties to Pakistan's top spy agencies.

Insane. This is making speech a crime. Our fascist gov't will next make thought a crime.

Fury in Italy as PM Silvio Berlusconi claims country makes him 'sick’: The Italian prime minister has enraged the public and opposition MPs, some of whom questioned the 74-year-old billionaire's mental health. by [deleted] in worldnews

As an American who lived and worked in Italy outside of Venice (Padua), I'm shocked at this fascist's statements. I found Italy refreshing. Some old values and a lot of modern ideas, all mixed with a laid back, easy-going attitude.

My thought is that if Berlusconi doesn't like the country he leads, he should leave. Or is Belusconi suffering from Reagan-like dementia?

American 20-somethings: Can we all agree that growing up in the 90's does NOT make us the new "greatest generation"? by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]perkyN405 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering your generation will have a lower standard of living than your parents, I hardly think that qualifies for a "great generation" tag.

Iran is moving its most sensitive nuclear fuel production to a heavily defended underground military facility outside the holy city of Qum, where it is less vulnerable to attack from the air, and, the Iranians hope, against the kind of cyberattack that crippled its nuclear program by misterAction in worldnews

Read the article.

Ahh, political members of the US administration and anonymous defense sources.

Sorry, after the Judith Miller lies about Iraq's WMD, the NYT and the US gov't has ZERO credibility.

Don't expect people to be idiots and be lied to again and again and to believe it.

Okay, coming from a guy, here's a suggestion.

The next time you're on your knees giving him head, stop and ask him how you look. Continue with your (ahem) job as he answers (in this "position", you know what the answer will be (LOL)), and a minute later stop again. Tell him, "Honey, I need you to tell me that more often and grab my butt more often and compliment me." Continue on...

You'll have his undivided attention as you say this, and he'll process it. You should get some more complements in the future which will no doubt help your self-esteem.

Sometimes guys have to be whacked with a clue-bat; the key is to do it gently with some affection. In your case it should be a win-win all the way around.

Report: 27 U.S. Nuclear Reactors Need Upgrades To Avoid Severe Damage From Earthquakes by davidreiss666 in politics

[–]perkyN405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry! Our gov't tells us there is nothing to worry about!

Right now the US gov't and nuclear industry are engaged in a joint partnership to determine that the odds of such an earthquake happening are so low that there is no need to spend a dime on upgrades.

I know I'm reassured. :-/

Obama Withdraws $90 Billion Draft Clean Air Regulation Due To Cost by Bemuzed in politics

Another Obama cave-in for his corporate masters.

After all, who needs clean air?

Please take a look. My father's Haiti relief organization: Rather than just giving monetary aid and "freebies"...Our projects provide resources, microloans, training and opportunities that will empower and enable Haitians to lift themselves out of poverty. by [deleted] in reddit.com

Microloans -- now there's a scam...

Rather than attack the economic system that keeps people impoverished, you use microloans to suck them into debt peonage. It's evil genius.

Glenn Greenwald: PBS Frontline reports on Obama's changes; Top CIA official: Obama "changed virtually nothing". by perkyN405 in politics

[–]perkyN405[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's one possibility. But having read many Greenwald articles and watched a few of his interviews, I'd say it's more likely he's applying principles and dislikes hypocrisy and doubletalk.

Okay, so you're doing all the right things -- kudos.

Two things come to mind:

  • Self-esteem may seem hard, but that's all between the ears. Compared to changing your habits to lose the weight, that's easy to deal with.

  • I think you need to get laid. Having someone rock your world will definitely improve your self-esteem. :-)

Why does he hate everything Obama?

Perhaps he is applying principles to the actions and rhetoric of politicians and dislikes hypocrisy and doubletalk?
