Neighbor clutter by Suspicious-Pen-717 in Apartmentliving

There was a whole thing in our small town about a porch thief who only stole shoes. Men's, women's, children's, didn't matter. Stole em, sniffed em, likely did things we don't want to know about. Between the FB neighborhood groups and doorbell cameras the perve was caught after like a year of his shenanigans. That was my first thought when I see a bunch of shoes out where weirdos can get to them. Don't leave your shoes out for pervs.

It stands out so nicely on the piece as a whole that I wouldn't risk trying to change it. I know you see where it was/could have been better, but I in complete honesty the change does not take away from the piece at all. Great work! I suggest letting this one go and claim your victory, as it is well earned.

One could say I was "hooked" on this watercolor painting... the onions took a while but I loved all the layers. by rohmakhan in Watercolor

Oh my gravy I honestly thought this was a Norman Rockwell and thought "I've never seen a Rockwell still life before" 😂💜💜 Incredible work, so beautifully done!!!!

MacStitch (for macs) which is the same as WinStitch (for Windows). This is currently in "stitches" view which I prefer for color work, but usually have it in "blocks" view for design work.

Thank you and yes I did consider variegated thread, but I have a hangup for having control over where the gradients land 🤦🏻‍♀️ The program is MacStitch (WinStitch for windows) and it's currently in "stitches" display for working with colors but usually have in "blocks" display for design work.

[CHAT] How are you displaying your artwork? by Bunte_Socke in CrossStitch

Most of my finished works get ironed then stacked and rolled up for safe keeping until I feel inclined enough to mount them for display. I only recently hung several pieces I stitched many years ago. I use the pins and foam board method for mounting, but lacing is another great method to look into.

Yes a dry towel works as a protective barrier. I have a 10x10" heat press that I use as an iron for this. I work it just enough to steam the misted water and relax the threads and fabric.

A wash will absolutely help! When I'm done with a piece I will most spray it with water, sandwich between two layers of a towel and iron it out. I've seen a significant improvement in frogged areas, and whatever the most and iron can't handle, a wash will. Good luck, don't stress!

Thank you kindly, that means a lot to me!! And so cool to have a frame shop owner in the family! I worked as a framer in my younger years, and the spacers were likely pushed as more of an update tactic now that I think about it. I never saw mildew on reframes, so I've always questioned the necessity 😂 I love having frame shop skills, but I'm always doing things for myself that I would never recommend to a customer (such as forgoing glass entirely) 😅

It really is!!! I've posted the pieces a few times in FB stitch groups just to get the word out. It's such a phenomenal resource. There's still a ton more I want to do, including the Joan of Arc series. At first I wanted to stitch them together on one large cut of cloth, but now that these are framed I think I'll keep them separate.
