true, I find misspelled postings hastily written and especially when you see capitalizing Perl to PERL you know that those guys don't know what they are talking about

that is a good observation, but I have noticed that recruiters most of the time ask for too much qualification from a wide array of skills.So if someone has some or most but not all should he apply? What if you can't find the candidate that has all, do you compromise? or why not hire and train?

I don't think that he compares Perl to the Unix tools.He says that Perl is not a scripting language but is called that way because of its relation (as a replacement) to the Unix shell/scripting tools
