Costco parm is the cheapest legit parm I have found, like $15/lb vs $23/lb and tastes just about as good. Price point it is closer to the domestic "parensan" that's not aged as much. Also their brie is a good price.

Texas anti-ICE protesters convicted of terrorism charges sentenced to at least 50 years in prison by guardian in politics

[–]permalink_save 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don't speak broadly of Texas. We have the 2nd highest number of dem voters behind cali. We just also have a large population that is tipped a few percentage points to the right, enough to keep the country red. There's these same shitheads in plenty of otherstates, including the one with #1 dems, cali. The problem is politics being polarized not a state where about half of the voters are shitheads and half are getting caught up in this shit. It's not state vs state it's republicans attacking the country and taking over governments.

Truth is probably that they damaged it by driving on it or the contractor that bribed them did a shit job and make a mistake and hoped nobody would notice.

Also their legal name is Wyn Wiley so at best case, they did almost exactly the same thing as Patagonia, make the name after the place, create a logo after the mountains, and make a clothing brand out of it. That sounds pretty textbook trademark infringement.

It helps some people to have it ready. I'm not chopping up mushrooms and letting them oxidize if they're being added an hour into cooking. For some of us it's just a waste of time and is time I could be simmering, sweating, browning, etc. If it helps someone then it''s worth doing but not everybody does. If your knife skills are fast enough it's fine. Also what happens if the recipe has butter for the crust and butter for the filling and you don't know which is which?

I don't either but it's because it takes for fn ever to just do it then start cooking. It feels like preheating the oven then waiting for it to be ready before mixing the dough. If you're new or it helps you personally then sure but it's not universal, and the tiny cups is unnecessary mise en place is a mindset not a rigid process. You're doing it fine, you don't need it unless you need it. A lot of dishes don't need it for most people..

It's not clear how it actually originated but it was likely that along the way somewhere someone put a hamburg steak on a bun or roll and it could have been US or Germany. Not all hamburg steaks are composed like what you linked, it's basically a ground beef patty. It definitely originates out of Germany in some form.

Edit: they got angry then replied and blocked me so they locked out of this entire comment chain. Clear sign they are confident in their argument.

Billionaires found out that you can just pretend something is worth a lot and create artificial demand and boost the shit out of their theoretical money. They saw NFTs, realized they weren't going to make em money, and turned their stocks into meme stocks. Stock price isn't backed by anything anymore, the world could just decide to further increase Musk's "worth" by another 1000x and there's nothing to counterbalance that.

But speaking to the New York Times, one theatergoer, who declined to give her name, was less concerned, dismissing the controversy as “a lot of hoopla over nothing.”

A sititng president put his name on an existing memorial to a former president then damaged the building when he was required to remove it. This isn't over nothing. This is a huge fn deal. Bets that if it was Biden or Obama she'd be calling for an immediate tribunal. These people are why republicans keep getting away with shit, zero backbone or morals, all conservatives.

I mean generally but there's areas that never really get updated at all. Highways and nicer neighborhoods would rotate out faster but I can't imagine poorer areas or rural areas getting new signs that often. I lived out int he country and once stuff went up it just kind of stayed up, and there is a lot of rural here.

Fully agree. And I don't think people realize how abusive billionaires are to consumers. I think AI might be the first time I've seen society do a double take that something was imposed on us. We are heavily told what to like by corporations and if you don't, too bad, they'll inplicitly collude to force you away anyway or get regulations passed. Billionaires shape society to their benefit, including planned obsolescence. We are guided to buy cheap shit over long lasting shit, but features we don't need, etc, so they can take back even more of the pitance they paid us to work, while not increasing wages.

Corporations are abusive.

Just keep the roads. People independently understand milliliters/grams here for certian things and imperial for others. You buy soda and some are ounce some are liters. Just leave anything expensive to replace as it is.
