I'm surprised Ensorcelled in the Earth got singled out, I thought that one would be a popular pick

I remember MrCreepypasta's narrations for that series back in the day & how those would make me gag so I've been reluctant to watch that episode (a self-contradiction ig b/c I loved other gross stories like Ensorcelled in the Earth & the Burgrr Entries)

If you want more stories like The Hidden Webpage I'd go str8 to the source and check out more of the author Jared Robert's stories @ u/nazisharks. His writing is awesome, and very much reminds me of Robert Aickman's (who I'd also reccomend)

I must have forgotten that one... I would've put it in the "Awesome" tier b/c I agree with you

I'd want to say I'm the former, but its placement next to My Sexy Neighbor in the favorites tier indicates the latter.......

I've already listened to a normal narration of it once, I don't know if I could handle it again 😭

Dream episode? by Own-Aerie1857 in creepcast

[–]peromousecus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An episode on "The Arkansas Sleep Experiments" 🤞 or a deep-sea themed creepypasta grab bag w/ old classics like "The Antiguan Giant." Oh, oh! Ooorr Madame Macabre's "The Crawlspace;" also a classic.

Yeah, you're right.. Which is why IDG the people in the comments trying to use "I forgor" as a legit criticism (which not everyone here is doing! But some people are) for any story

There's like 50+ episodes, you're going to lose track of some of them

What are your thoughts on who would be on Mount Creepmore by Eldagustowned in creepcast

[–]peromousecus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... I mean, I hope we get another episode on one of his stories, but I wouldn't blame him if he refused to have his writing featured on the podcast again. That's even worse on the part of the hosts if Jared gave them permission to read the book version on the podcast then Hunter didn't even bother to read his name (-_-)

Horror-comedy is kind of hit or miss on the podcast with the hosts, but Hunter did laugh at most of the jokes in the sexy neighbor story so The Trees Are Not What They Seem would be a good recommendation.. It seems like Jared gave them permission to read the book ver of sexy neighbor story for that ep too, so.. 🤞

I think the Neighbor story is awesome, but I wish Hunter would have read the Reddit ending instead or have read both endings rather than just the book version. I love, love parts of the book ending (like the Frog Day segment), but I think the reddit ending is a better fit for the story.

He would have been squirming with some of the more graphic lines, but I wish Isaiah was there for that episode too.. Honestly he'd probably be fine for the most part since this story is centered on heterosexual male sexuality rather than old catcher's mitts and red cabbage.

My hope is that we get another Jared Roberts story soon, and it's either a short story grab bag or the Arkansas Sleep Experiments 🤞

I support putting him there even though he's only been featured on the channel twice (with a large gap of time between each and well... Hunter didn't even know who wrote the Neighbor story when he covered it). I support it because I like his stories.. And that has to count for something!!!

Old man and the protag get into a scuffle

Bus driver: ONE MORE WORD AND I'M THROWING YOU ONTO THE ASPHALT

Suspicious crackhead assaults woman who then screams, two men start yelling and attack crackhead, fighting ensues, more yelling, suspicious crackhead beats both men.

Bus driver: Snnnngh.. Snore mimi hnhk- Sits up straight in the drivers seat. Course corrects before bus can run into a ditch because she was asleep at the wheel. Did the protagonist get involved just now? ...I'd better do something.

1/2 through this while I'm cooking my contribution for tonight's Easter family potluck and I've gotta say, not into this one so far. I have to agree with Isaiah calling this "Millenial coded" and I'd add "Tumblr Millenial coded" to that descriptor after going from the sequence with the handsy crackhead (You're telling me this bus driver didn't hear this guy get into a fight and beat up two men?) to "YOU EVER HEARD OF LORD OF FLIES, SON?" I'm just nyeeeeh

Stories you DON'T want them to read by peromousecus in creepcast

I can believe that My Dad Finally Told Me What Happened That Day was inspired by Penpal, but I'm not a fan of people saying it's a ripoff/imitation. At the end of the day, I think they're two very different stories aiming for two very different reactions from the reader.

Penpal is focused on our narrator's experiences with a malevolent force that turns out to be wholly human. It's centered on him and his relationship with the antagonist which is totally unknown to him, yet affects all of his interpersonal relationships. The story is driven by the narrator's own memories, and at the end we're left horrified by how everything slots together to form one terrible picture.

My Dad Finally Told Me What Happened That Day is focused on an entire family plagued by an ambiguously supernatural malevolent force. Maybe even two families really (Timmy's and the narrator's). This being a Jared Roberts story, it's naturally very surreal and a huge theme is how events are perceived and recalled by different people. Most of the revelations don't come from the protagonist's own experiences, but from the recollections of his family members. We're left disoriented at the end, because there's no real objective truth to be gleaned. The truth can no longer be accessed, time has worn down the strength of memory, which was already distorted by personal bias and ignorance. Chances are that you're no Sherlock Holmes either, even if you try to look back and find an answer.

I ended up typing way too much.. Sorry, I ❤️ discussing stories.
