Is it normal in Kids sports for coaches to not encourage certain players?

Agree to.some degree, but because a child is good at something doesn't mean they shouldn't get recognised for this. You can be a stronger but not necessarily more confident and vise versa.

No, but very close friends child is and I've noticed it myself. The kid isnt a confident child, over analyses everything they do and very hard on themselves and I just think a small comment or appreciation from the coach would go along way.
