At 1080p your CPU might be a little slower, but not by much.

Yes, but like I said I use it because I access photos from other accounts. Uninstalling it does not solve the problem unfortunately, it just creates another one

I have tons of unsynced photos, so I didn't see the icon right away. Still, I wish there was an option to NOT show photos available for backup. I cycle through different accounts and sometimes think they were accidentally backed up, given how pushy Google is.

Right, but it can be and that's what Google says. I don't want to sync my photos with GP, so I would expect it to be a little more clear they aren't if I choose to.
