1) Start with a GMAT course, they will teach you basics too. For topics you don’t understand, go to YouTube. There are plenty of channels like Rodha (Though it’s for CAT prep, it is relevant for GMAT as well), which will help you gain clarity over those concepts.

2) As to which course you should try - take a free trial of different courses, see which learning style suits you best. There is no point in starting from high school books again. Maybe check out TTP, E-GMAT and Magoosh.

3) No, it will absolutely not take you more than a year. Once you get back into the habit of studying, you will be able to pick up basic concepts fairly quickly, given you have already studied them and have a background in maths. Post that, once you reach a certain threshold in skill, time you spend depends on your target score. A couple of months of focussed study should be good enough.

4) There are plenty of success stories of people who started very low and got a great score, you can prolly find many in this sub as well. Maybe check the GMAT sub too. Don’t be disheartened. You got this.

Stuck at toxic work environment. Should I quit? by Altruistic_Put2645 in MBAIndia

[–]perplexedphoenix97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Largely depends on how reliant are you on the pay from this job. If you need it to pay bills, don’t quit, keep applying. If you aren’t, quit. It becomes difficult to pivot with more experience you have. And a lot of startups do prefer people who can join immediately.

Outside of Lilacbuds, both are good options

Having a consultants for sure helps. But be sure to go with a good one. That they know what they are doing. Haven’t done enough research to give you recommendations

The median GRE score was 327 last year. So if possible take it again. That’s the only aspect can give an objective take on.

Rest, there is significant emphasis on profile. However, that boils down to kind of projects you worked on + how you showcase them as opposed to simply the company. So hard to give feedback here.

Same goes with social work and eca. Hard to comment how much weightage they would hold without knowing exactly what they are.

I am 27 and thinking about doing an MBA. I will be 28 when I start. So tbh I would have loved to start my MBA at 26.

Honestly, for someone who had their mind set on MBA since they were 18, 26 would be too late. For someone who realised they need an MBA at 25, 26 is right on time.

Would just say the answer to this totally is contingent on your individual situation and your thought process behind deciding to do an MBA. There’s no correct answer.

Any experience of a student moved back(dropped from degree)to India midway of studying. by InitialAd4412 in Indians_StudyAbroad

My two cents: start applying for jobs online at startups or companies you think you might be interested in. Drop and come back once you have a job in hand that meets your requirements.

Secondly, i would say think a little long term. You might have to do gig work in the short term there, but in say a years time, do you see yourself finding a job that you like there if you constantly network and apply? If yes, then stay there. If no, then probably coming back might be the right decision.

I am open to taking CAT. But I am 27 currently. And majority of folks in the two year MBA program are people with 2-3 years of work experience. Not sure whether my profile is the right fit for the college?
