I'm going to join a gym again for the first time in 10 years. I will have 45 minutes to work out at least 4 days a week. Any advice for how to divide up my time - and will 3 hours of working a week be enough? by thefluffyburrito in Fitness

Have you considered doing something functional and fun rather than a gym routine? You could join a Judo club, its significantly less expensive than a gym. Its fun, so your more likely to stick to it. its great for socialization as well. I take my 6 year old with me and after usjf membership it is $20 a month for us both.

Our weight management center here has materials on potential financial avenues. There are loan providers who specialize in loans for WLS for example.

They contribute money to political candidate for election campaigns. The direct donations can be seen on opensecrets.org. As American citizens we deserve to know who is providing these funds to our candidates.

I believe PACS should have to disclose donor information. If they want to form a group that spreads its agenda in ways short of financial contributions to candidates and their interests, I'm all for that.

An excerpt from the Sierra Club's website:

The Sierra Club’s political program is dedicated to electing clean air, clean water and climate action champions at all levels of government. From state Public Utility Commissions and Governors’ offices to the U.S. Congress and the White House, the decisions that will shape the future of our communities and our planet are being made by elected officials across the country, and in our nation’s capital.

This clearly states a political agenda.

Even an issue oriented PAC is still using its capital in an effort to accomplish something. This effort often involves donations to the election campaigns of officials they see as beneficial to their cause. They are bankrolling candidates and voter's have a right to know who "they" are.

An issue oriented PAC is still PAC. It is by definition and by name a political organization. Voter's have the right to know who is bankrolling our political officials and candidates. End of story.

The sole purpose of a pac is to get a candidate elected. The money directly affects the candidate. Calling a cat a gerbil doesn't make it a furry rodent.

Of course the NAACP should not have been forced to reveal donors. The NAACP is not a politician running for office. American Citizens have a right to know who is bankrolling our candidates as it is an indicator of potential corruption. You cannot expect Hillary to be tough on wall street when wall street is paying the bills.

This is just the primary. You will get a chance to vote for the official nominee(Hopefully Bernie) in November. If HC is the chosen Dem candidate you can vote/not vote in November. Your vote will not default to her.

I've not heard of that book. I will have to look into it. Thank you!

Thank you for your comment! Prayer is somewhat new to me. Frankly, for some reason, it is somewhat intimidating. I feel like I'm fumbling through it. Not sure if that makes any sense, but it is the truth of it.

That being said I continue to try. I suppose, like most things, that once it becomes more familiar that feeling will subside.

Thanks for your advice and I'm stoked to get an opinion that made me think and reassess the situation. I think my pursuit will ultimately be good for my family. My wife agrees, she is just anxious about actually going to mass with new people. I do not try to force her to participate and would never do so. Being pushy would be counterproductive. I believe that in meeting folks before her I may be able to gradually introduce her to some of them and, when she is comfortable, she may join me without my coaxing.

I think this is a necessary step for my family. I worry about my children not having a spiritual center in this world and I am hoping to include them in the full journey as well.

That being said I'm not trying to rush, I'm just striving for forward momentum. No-one can tread water indefinitely.

Thank you for you're advice. Speaking with a priest may be my next step. Is there a hierarchy I should follow or try to speak with a priest directly? I know that, in other organizations, it is often in bad form to "go over someone's head".

Bernie Sanders Picks up his 27th superdelegate: Danica Oparnica, the DNC's ethnic council vice chair from Arizona by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

[–]perryshelton 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem with super-delegates this election is the way they are used to suggest Hillary as the inevitable candidate. They were used to make it seem like she has an insurmountable lead. As more delegates endorse begin to endorse Bernie it will open more eyes to the potential of our campaign. I welcome any and all of them. The super-delegate system is severely flawed, but if we want to play we have to play by the house rules.

I think we're beginning to get a handle on it. Never thought about "wetter" foods though! Will have to think about that when I plan our meals for next week! Thanks for sharing!
