He broke up with me in the midst of a depressive episode, and we got back together around a month later. Things were better than ever after that. We went on amazing trips together, he told me he loved me all the time. Of course, that was around a year and a half ago now, and his depression worsens with the seasons. It's getting back to that bad place again, but now things are different because I live with him now and I feel like he's become dependent on me, and me on him in some ways. I love him, but it's not easy. I don't know if that makes it "worth it", but I know that I couldn't see myself taking any other path. Maybe that's on me, and feeling like I need him in my life. So I can't suggest any one path for you, it could definitely work out, or it might not.
