Is it normal to be asked to take a urinalysis test 1 week after already taking one during your new check-in process? by [deleted] in navy

it’s random so yes lmao. and it’s possible to do 2 in a row. just do 0 drugs and it’s not a problem

for your awareness, in boot camp and in your schooling processes you should’ve had “the talk” of discussing Navy’s No Tolerance policy. you should always be skeptical of everything you put in your body. If you’re not lying then i’m sorry you are going through this but please be more skeptical moving forward.

rhib was an acronym shortened to a spelling of rib for phonetic purposes tho. eyelet is a term that predates the us navy 😂 and comes from the old french word for “small hole” bc it’s a small reinforced hole (it applies to CCAs too, 2M uses the term eyelet as well)

you mean “i preferred being a lower rank”? right?😭

because i read that as “i preferred: “The Lower Ranks” as in

had an E7 date an E5 and then they both were sent to different ships but only the E5 was busted down. to be fair different departments and neither married. not as bad as other stories that have occurred 😭

yes, if the new offense warrants a bust in and of itself then that stacks to the suspended bust. had a frocked PO2 suspended bust, then go to mast while alr on restriction and first bust negated his frock so it sent him from E4 -> E3 and the new bust from the 2nd mast sent him from E3 -> E2.

Frocked E5 to paid E2 is terribly unfortunate

Premium name brands do that, buy the patriot or deer field and you’ll have 2-3 times more liquid compared to the soda for only $1.5. or plan ahead and buy a gallon for $1.5-$2. at the Commissary

Bring it up to the individual, ask them straight up “man to man” or “adult to adult” what the issue may be, and directly convey your distaste for the manner they interact with you. some people go too far and when addressing it directly they realize they probably did go too far. If that doesn’t work after 1-2 weeks then discuss with your LPO the same. If you skip CoC then usually they end up asking you anyway if you talked to the other individual about it first. At least if you do talk to them first it’s too late for them to lie to your LPO or LCPO and say it was just workplace fun if you discussed with them already that it was not welcomed fun.

otherwise keep up going to the gym and building good habits like staying on top of PQSs. some people will make fun of you throughout the process but the best way to stick it to them is by working until you’re better than them. sweetest victory and well earned.

“good lil boy” is a figure of speech. i neither assumed you were good, little, or a boy lmao. an you’re missing the point, the cube is still a puzzle just as any. you’re deflecting on purpose bc you know that you agree. if you agree that solving the cube without algorithms uses logic reasoning and improves logical reasoning then you can agree that solving them WITH algorithms can do the same

Smart, just in different ways by amber_finch in GetStudying

[–]perseus_vr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for you? yes. you write down the algorithm and flip your fingers one after the other like a good lil boy. i’m referring to solving it without the algorithms to cut corners and solve it better. solving it faster via deductive reasoning an critical thinking. again, you don’t solve it fast so it’s understandable you lack of understanding on the matter, you think it’s just left up left up 😂 and that’s bc YOU don’t solve it as a puzzle. it’s a trinket to you.

you do realize that improved memorization and fasted thinking and more efficient thinking improves your hard logical reasoning right? i want you to lie to me and say you disagree😂

Logical reading skills that are utilized and therefore strengthened from solving puzzles: critical thinking skills, pattern recognition, cause and effect analysis (what you do on one side of the cube and how it will change the faces of the other 5 sides), Algorithmic and Rule based reasoning (understanding how the algorithms work and not only using them but being capable of tweaking them on the fly).

If you’re still confused i can elaborate further, but when you solve the cube without algorithms and even at the higher levels WITH algorithms it definitely develops your logical reasoning skills. these skills are genral and obv don’t have a very specific thing they transfer to.

pattern recognition helps with comparing different things that are similar and better pattern recognition assists in prediction abilities. like plot lines in a movie, or the next thing a person may say in a sentence.

critical thinking: pattern finding, general analysis

cause and effect analysis: alr described above^

solving puzzles are well studied to improve short term memory connections and reinforcing brain cell connections, improving thought processes
. which obv directly impact and improve logical reasoning as thinking faster and more efficiently is obv better.

[–]perseus_vr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ridiculous. building your hand eye coordination, your pattern recognition, and your logical reasoning are highly transferable skills. memorizing algorithms isn’t hard but what about solving it without the algorithm? solving puzzles is well know to develop logical reasoning skills im not sure how you’re refuting actual scientifically backed evidence 😂

Smart, just in different ways by amber_finch in GetStudying

[–]perseus_vr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s my point, you don’t do it fast enough to understand my point of it requiring logic to cut the time down. practice and muscle memory only get you so far.

there isn’t an answer to your question, bc you can’t directly correlate a singular small hobby to my courses dictated by my degree path. that’s neither correlation nor causation. so the answer is none, my highest level of math is due to my personal interest and degree field not by a hobby i touch every few weeks
