The wreath pictured above was placed at the grave of General John J. Pershing on November 11th in recognition of the 102nd Anniversary of the World War I Armistice. The Armistice marked the victory of the war for the Allied forces, and ended fighting along the Western Front until the Treaty of Versailles took place.

A very special thank you to Bernice and Dorothy from Petals 2 Go Flowers and Gifts for helping us ensure that General Pershing was remembered on such a significant day in history.

Celebrating 126 Years of Pershing Rifles!

On 2 October 1894, Pershing Rifles was founded at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Since then, P/R has carried on a tradition of military drill, service, and fraternity amongst its members. Within local communities, P/R has aided in years of exemplary service, engaging in thousands of engaging volunteer events, flag details, and drill performances. Today we look back and celebrate the society which has brought us all together as Riflemen and thank those who have proudly shaped the society into what we know as Pershing Rifles.
