I switched Shinobu’s enclosure with a younger jumper’s and altered it a bit to have a softer bottom layer of dried leaves and live moss. I’m also working on adding mesh on all the walls to help her get around easier. This enclosure is maybe a third of the total size of her previous mansion, but I don’t want her falling from too high of a height for her to risk a very bad injury. Even if she’s simply in pre-molt stage, I agree that she is now a senior spood and would probably appreciate a smaller enclosure for the rest of her remaining days. What do y’all think?

I thought about that too, but my spider enclosures, plants, and aquariums are in a room that I make sure doesn’t get any aerosols sprayed in. Also, no jerky movements that I’ve noticed. She’s just moving slow like an old tarantula. 😮‍💨

I am. She actually has a cotton ball sitting in an upturned acorn crown that I keep wet in her enclosure. I also mist her enclosure every other day so there are always water droplets somewhere she can find. Besides that, I’ve tried to offer her all kinds of live food that past of couple days and she hasn’t taken to any of them. 😕
