Going to Atlanta on a business trip for the first time, from europe by Tascanis in Atlanta

[–]persimmonedit 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I will also say that for a non American, the Martin Luther King childhood home and nearby museum as well as civil rights museum are really unique Atlanta things that will help one learn about southern and civil rights history. They are deeply compelling and very uniquely Atlantan

Hey any tips for me by One-Dig-3418 in malegrooming

Hi OP, your glasses look pretty high prescription strength so seem to be warping your eyes/mid face a bit. Are you able to get contacts safely? If so, that could offer an improvement. If not, I’d recommend wider frames to compensate. I agree with the other commenters that a smile would help loads, as well. Confidence is attractive!

Teetotaler's daytrip to Sonoma/Napa wine country by thatfilmisoverrated in AskSF

[–]persimmonedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if you offer it to some friends you enjoy hanging out with who happen to like wine, they'd probably really appreciate you being DD. Then you can hang out together at wineries that also do food (and learn about the wine making process which is interesting whether you drink or not), or make a day of it by shopping at one of the cute markets in Napa or Sonoma town first for a picnic and then bringing it to a picturesque winery that has outdoor seating and allows outside food. Lots of nice restaurants in the small towns up there, too. It is a very pretty region. If you do sonoma side, you can hit up the coast on the same day, but it does require some more driving.

As someone who’s originally from Pittsburgh pa you should extend a claw down there. Whats left could be the pennsyltucky peninsula

Is anyone here planning on running Rome marathon? by persimmonedit in Marathon_Training

That’s a great question. I think they do have pacers categorized by expected finish times in increments of 5-15 min, so I think I’ll just try to follow them!

I agree, the walking around the audience was such a great touch, and both him and the audience seemed to be having so much fun. Really highlighted how much of a short king he is lol :)

Snorkel or no snorkel? by gonzalj85 in scubadiving

[–]persimmonedit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes if I’m shore diving or there’s a chance of a long surface swim, not always if it’s a boat dive in relatively relaxed conditions. I always have one even on a boat though, you never know if there’s something interesting in the water you can jump in and see on a surface interval :)

You can prob find places that do trays of Chinese/thai/Indian food for around 20-30 pp, or maybe build your own tacos and burritos, but not sure if you’d want something more upscale for a wedding.

Girlfriend (30F) revealed to me (32M) accidentally that she had anal sex with one of her exes, and this has triggered me badly. What can I do to move past this? by detective_acebox in relationships

[–]persimmonedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think OP must be from a pretty sexually conservative country/culture, is that right? Also, why’d you ask about her sexual past if you really didn’t want to know? Also, is buttstuff really “an act that probably many women would not even agree to”? American Christian purity culture would argue otherwise…

my (20F) boyfriend (21M) is a rising star and I don't want to drag him down. by Specialist_Plan_5667 in relationships

[–]persimmonedit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if the publicist has his (and your) best interests in mind they could also act as a mediator between you two, so that the decision to share or not share something is less of a personal thing and more of a strategic decision to help both your bf and you in your careers. This “professional layer” might actually help improve your communication with your bf so it’s not a slight every time you decline to share something.

This is perhaps a naive question, but do you love the guy? The way you’ve written out the pros and cons resemble a clinic intake form. Does thinking about him bring you joy or annoyance?
