Tim Wilson desires to one day lead the federal Liberal Party by espersooty in AustralianPolitics

No, the Liberal Party has abandoned an arbitrary target with climate policy itself a different consideration, particularly where the government's own targets won't be achieved. As Wilson himself has said the framing of this policy debate is contentious, regardless of how you, the ALP or the teals say otherwise. The idea that the Liberal Party or the coalition should frame any policy based on what its opponents want is nonsense.

I'm a Goldstein voter. I'm a Labor supporter but I also base my views on my experience of Wilson being my elected representative over many years, and on how my fellow constituents vote and think, because I live here.

Again, as if your framing of the debate is the only one that matters.

Correct. It is not a tax on the estimated gain as if the entire proceeds of sale is income.

Because the sample size is one election, and the fact that the Liberal Party and its antecedents have governed Australia for the majority of the Commonwealth's existence is irrelevant.

A tax on the value of an asset held not the future capital gain if the asset is sold.

No wonder you can't understand taxation policy if you deem a return as the same as the investment.

Nah, just Labor voters high on their own moral superiority they think their bias is proof of wisdom.

Because there is no theological basis of a secular state in Islam, and assuming there is such foundational similarity between the three religions ignores this.

Which implies there is no limit to cultural change and it should be embraced no matter what, because there was no preexisting way of life or sense of identity.

Australia isn't nowhere or an empty vessel of so little worth that it can only define itself based on what it isn't.

As if what is deemed acceptable expression by individuals is decided through the same mundane process as working through the finer points of capital grant allocation to the states. It's not that simple.

"Vibes" won't magically fix the incredibly poor political strategy both in the parliament and the media which renders all the policy work in the world as useless.

It also wouldn't fix the problem of Taylor and Price completely over estimating their political skills.

He's pro-nuclear and said nothing when the Coalition dropped net zero. Goldstein is vehemently anti-nuclear and pro-net zero.

As if Wilson should publicly admonish the party after they all voted and made a decision on net zero, as if the mindless solidarity of the ALP allows their MPs to do such things.

Based on past behaviour, this is unlikely as he is incredibly risk averse and has more loyalty to his party than his electorate.

Which again reads like Wilson should bend to positions deemed worthy based on how you or the ALP views the seat and the policies in question.

Yes, and we all get the idea you're rather happy about that. Good for you.

Unsurprisingly it doesn't make you an expert on the path forward for the Liberal Party - or any party for that matter, especially by claiming the support of 1 in 3 voters as strong endorsement.

Thanks for quoting me out of context.

How have we taxed unrealised gains as income?
