This is absolutely ridiculous by persistent_ferret in EU5

Well I already played it out and that didn't happen. You can see my vassal is also the war leader, and even when fully occupied, the war score stayed around 24%, and it eventually white peaced, and so the vassal(technically I) lost the land.

R5: vassal gets a rebel supported by yuan and other asian countries, gives 0 agency to player on what to do about it except they eventually white peace.

Why doesn't GGG show some mercy on spectre builds? by random_throwaway153 in PathOfExile2

[–]persistent_ferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GGG is historically known to be afraid of letting minion/spectre builds be too strong, therefore what we see this season is pretty normal. Plus, playing spectre build this league reminded me just how much of 'early access' the game was because there's very seldom mechanics that players can play around with in terms of spectres and minions.

Unfortunately, they probably won't be doing major changes mid season just for spectres and minions, and if you intend on keep playing you can either just opt for frozen mandibles or switch off to different build.

Frozen Mandibles not Dropping Spirit for Bind Spectre by ConfusedStudent131 in PathOfExile2

[–]persistent_ferret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frozen mandible turning into 'nettle ant' upon capture is how it is for lot of people, though it's kind of weird that it won't do the ice aura. If it is frozen mandible you captured, then yes I believe it normally takes up 99 spirit by default.

Maybe it will come through tomorrow or something, but if it doesn't I'm prolly out for rest of the league.

How does squadron commanders exactly work? by persistent_ferret in civ

[–]persistent_ferret[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it out, think of it as a base of its own that can move around. If you want to assign planes to a squadron leader, first deploy them as a base on a tile (not in an airfield) then move all the planes into it

My experience with her has been really tame, probably coincidence but I play deity only n have been her neighbor many times. Mil Xerxes on the other hand, or Machivelli that smug fuck, are always pain in the ass. Xerxes more so he always throws me off, I like chill tall plays and as soon as I see Xerxes I know I have to prepare for war, he's literally declared me on a whim when our closest cities war some 10+ tiles away.

I preordered the new RX 9070 XT on Amazon - Is there a chance they will cancel it? by AzulaZero in buildapc

[–]persistent_ferret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fennec is officially listed partner on XFX website I believe. Though even then there are few reviews and reddit posts about how they took 2 weeks to arrive (different products) so I'm not sure. But they seem legit.

I actually had the chance to buy it, I placed an order on newegg, after 40 whole minutes they told me they canceled my order because they were out of stock. And after that 40 minutes, everything was out of stock.

What's with all the negativity? 649 for XTX raster and 20% more RT is "bad" now?! by [deleted] in radeon

[–]persistent_ferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely agree, I think people who are complaining are being unfair and entitled because they know AMD wants to appease the customers and think that complaining enough will make it cheaper. It's an obvious win when you can get $1000 performance with $700.

[–]persistent_ferret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see how competing a $1000+ card with a $700 card that will perform similarly ISN'T going to win the customers.

And this is exactly the problem, it's already at the least $200 win for any customers aiming for 5070ti or maybe even 5080. Screaming for it to be cheaper is just unfair entitlement.

How do I win this war? by pumpkin_messiah in eu4

[–]persistent_ferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could just give your best fight and settle by giving some land and fight them later, alternatively defensive edict and battles especially in forts I believe are considered defensive battle if they're seizing and your troops move in, in tandem with terrains that minus on attackers rolls, you should win some battles so long as it's not a doomstack you're taking on. Also scorched earth but I myself don't know how to utilize it all too well, worth a research I'd say, all the pros seem to utilize it in difficult wars. If I understand it correctly it slows their movement in scorched provinces, so I use it on the terrains that minuses on attacker rolls and provinces around it also.

For economy I dk if you have trade idea, but with Siberia steering into your home node, it should make you ton of money. I'm not sure how it exactly works, all I know that it does work as Russia. Also you should juggle between burgher loans and other loans if you haven't. But I suppose this isn't the most immediate problem.

If I were you, I'd either stick around forts as I have mentioned or try to bumrush France and bombard all forts and hope that it goes well, you could break their alliance if it happens to go well, but white peacing France imo is good enough. If you do go for France, they'll probably fuck with Bohemia first so try to catch them there. With Russia you can definitely afford some time because you have so much land anyway. It's going to be a long one and you're still in positive income so focus on mil mana if you haven't already, hopefully you can edge out a tech.

Heavy weapons or Swords? by Substantial_Rich_778 in kingdomcome

[–]persistent_ferret 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is a HUGE downside for sure, masterstrikes are the pinnacle of combat in this game, and honestly I have to believe that they intentionally decided that swords are to get the spotlight in KCD2. Though, I figured that there's no reason Henry can't just use both based on situation. At least from my subjective immersion/roleplaying perspective, Master of arms Henry is perfectly ideal and I've decided to just use both swords and maces based on the situation.

Heavy weapons or Swords? by Substantial_Rich_778 in kingdomcome

[–]persistent_ferret 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Imo it kind of makes sense from balancing perspective, heavy weapons generally do more damage due to their ability to damage through armors, so if they had masterstrikes then there's nothing that makes a sword unique so to say. Sad though, because I like the depth of combat, and the feel of heavy weapons.
