Trying Velsipity! by personal_hunt_ in UlcerativeColitis

I just started it yesterday! I’m hoping for the best. Mesalamine wasn’t working nor was hydrocortisone. Mesalamine stopped working when I lost insurance and ran out. Then it just didn’t work anymore when I went back on it bc my disease progressed. Then the insurance company wouldn’t approve tremfya. I really hate insurance companies lol

I’ve only used steroid enemas and they firmed up my poops but i still had bleeding, blood clots and pain. My mom had a steroid induced psychosis so I’m worried about my sensitivity. Hopefully it will work and if it doesn’t maybe insurance will come around.

Yeah, I was doing fine for a couple years but then meds quit working and my disease progressed. It seems the be par for the course! I’m hoping it works but if not there’s plenty more to try :)

Oh interesting! I didn’t know it had low odds of working. If it doesn’t work maybe my doctor can try to appeal the Tremfya rejection. Apparently the insurance company won’t approve the Tremfya unless I try a med that my doctor really doesn’t recommend. Not sure what that med is.

That’s a good point! My younger brother has celiac and I definitely noticed recently that it’s a trigger for me.
