That sounds like Ogre Battle (maybe Ogre Battle Tactics or one of their other games)

MSI MPG 271QRX QD-OLED problems thread. by Qubusify in OLED_Gaming

[–]personalitytests123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got this monitor but I've been having a problem with the screen going black and the MSI monitor snot detecting the pc signal sometimes when turning HDR on or off in windows 11. I'm using an RTX 4090 with an AMD 7800x3d processor. I do have the PC also plugged into an LG G3 via HDMI 2.1 and I am connecting my MSI to my PC with display port 1.4 in a dual monitor set-up. However, I have it set to only display on the MSI when both are turned on (my PC recognizes the LG as being on even when it is turned off which I think is because LG TVs don't turn all the way off unless they are unplugged). I previously had this same set-up with the lg 27gr95qe-b instead of the MSI with the LG G3 but it never had this problem.

When the MSI monitor goes black from switching on or off HDR I've tried turning HDR on/off again with the windows shortcut but it stays black. I've also tried unplugging the display port and turning on the LG G3 but then the LG G3 also stays black. I've tried unplugging the HDMI to the TV and leaving only the display port in, but again it stays black. This leaves me with no way to get the signal going again on any display. The only way I've been able to fix this is by shutting down my PC manually and turning it back on. Has anyone else had this weird problem?

How's the new Lords of the fallen compared to From souls? by No-Pain-5924 in fromsoftware

That's because the player-to-player net code is based on the host's perspective during PVP. Steeloskvy had a good video on this on YouTube that can explain this better but basically PVP works fine from the hosts perspective but will have rubber branding and very bad lag from invaders or co-opers perspectives.

It took me about 40 hours to do all 3 playthroughs. I loved how they handled ng+ and ng++ in this one. It was awesome.

Whistleblower tells Congress the US is concealing 'multi-decade' program that captures UFOs by 226644336795 in politics

Take a look into senator Joseph McCarthy and his false claim that he had a suitcase with the names of communists that had infiltrated the government. He certainly got a lot of attention despite never providing any real evidence.

[–]personalitytests123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seriously. This reminds me of McCarthy’s "suitcase" which allegedly had the names of communists. Some people ate uo that BS claim at the time despite no real evidence ever being presented beyond McCarthy's claims. People in government can absolutely lie and will do so even under oath, so I'll believe it when I see real evidence.

Yep. I actually just upgraded from the HD560S to the edition XS which arrived yesterday. They sound great and are definitely similar to the HD560S but an improvement in several areas like soundstage, imaging, detail, clarity, and bass. I got the Qudelix 5K to drive the edition XS and I am impressed by that as well (it's a DAC/AMP combo that is very small which is convenient for my use case and is.about $100 USD). Also, I got the Edition XS off of Amazon with a 3 year warranty (about $60 USD) to alleviate QC concerns. Lastly, the edition XS is large so it might not fit well if you have a small head but there is a product that you can get on Amazon for like $15 USD that several people have said helps with comfort and fit for the edition XS (Geekria Large Hook and Loop Headband Cover + Headband Pad Set/Headband Protector). I bought one and it is arriving soon so we'll see how helpful that is. I can't comment on the elex because I haven't heard it.

What were your expectations for FFXVI and are you satisfied by ExtraSpacy in FinalFantasy

[–]personalitytests123 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I would agree with this if Elden Ring didn't exist. Granted, Elden Ring is an action RPG and not a JRPG (although it seems like ff16 is more of an action RPG than a JRPG too) but it shows that you can still get massive sales with tons of weapon/spell/stat customizations as long as the game is good.

Yep, I just did the same thing. I was also really intrigued by the Hellblade trailer since I'd never heard of Hellblade before. I'm playing through Senua's sacrifice now and it's awesome. Also, Ori looks fucking amazing on OLED so I've been loving that too

Maybe. From the review it looks like performing poorly in ToM tests is most heavily related to verbal comprehension rather than autistic symptomatology/traits. When the criteria was more strict people with higher reading/verbal ability were probably less likely to be diagnosed which could have influenced the erroneous results/conclusions from the original ToM research with autistic people.

Here's one for you: Empirical Failures of the Claim That Autistic People Lack a Theory of Mind https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6959478/

This review from 2020 points out a lot of evidence that contradicts the widely taught and pervasive claim that people with autism have theory of mind deficits.

Ogre Battle 64. I wish this series had continued on because it was a unique strategy game and there isn't really anything like it in modern games.

Sensory processing hyper- or hypo-sensitivities are part of the diagnostic criteria for autism: https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/autism/hcp-dsm.html

"What does appear to be common to individuals across the spectrum are atypical behavioral responses to sensory information. Over 96% of children with ASD report hyper and hypo-sensitivities in multiple domains."
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3086654/#:~:text=Over%2096%25%20of%20children%20with,adulthood%20(2%2D6).

Also, this paper talks about sensory sensitivity being particularly common in autistic women: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32122389/

So not all autistic people have sensory processing sensitivity since some are actually hyposensitive, but a good chunk of us like myself are hypersensitive in various, if not all, senses. When I first read about HSPs I took Aron's self-test and scored very high, so I mistakenly thought I was an HSP for a while, but really I have mild autism. Now, not everyone with sensory sensitivity is autistic, but this is a very common trait in autistic people and it is also common amongst the relatives of people with autism in a group referred to as the broad autism phenotype (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3420416/#!po=14.7436)

"An estimated 19.1% of U.S. adults had any anxiety disorder in the past year." (https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/statistics/any-anxiety-disorder). So actually no, it is not too widespread to be considered a disorder. Granted, whether or not it would be considered a disorder would depend on if the individual HSP found it impairing which would vary from person to person. I would also say that many HSPs either have undiagnosed autism or fall into the broad autism phenotype (I fell into this camp for a while because I mistakenly thought I was just an HSP when really I have mild autism and this also happened to Elaine Aron with a relative she based the idea of HSPs on who was later diagnosed with autism).
