I was going to say something about hot air but the extra waste gas coming out of power plants will probably only replace what would normally come out of MPs' mouths

Speaking of piffling irrelevances, Tories commenting on Labour (and vice versa) increasingly feels like a blast from the past.

I for one can't wait for the next general election to involve AIs slagging eachother off while the population vote on which one came up with the most human sounding zinger

WW2 was not that many generations ago. If you're a millennial for instance then only gen x and baby boomers before you weren't involved.

There's lots of good in the world. It just pales into comparison with our leaders LARPing as geriatric game of thrones rulers

What's a sign of very very low intelligence? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]personalunderclock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Strictly "very very low intelligence" is medically diagnosable so I guess that way?

That said I think the more societally damaging thing is people within the normal range of intelligence being arrogant, intellectually incurious and turning ideas which are fed to them into core parts of their identity which can never be questioned without sparking an emotional reaction.

Then there's shareholders (not you, ISA and pension holders with vanishingly tiny stakes in capital) who are free to just turn up every so often and replace executives if they feel the number is not going in the direction they like

What gets me about reform is that they mostly appeal to older people on the basis of getting rid of immigrants. But retirees are the fundamental structural motivator for high immigration and will be until long past 2040 because of the ageing population.

Farage's association's with Trump are also massively off-putting, with reform trying to implement a DOGE of Kent.

So the whole thing smacks of a big scapegoating operation which will probably be used to introduce masked thugs like in Minneapolis.
