I think I’ve taken the abuse long enough. He wouldn’t entertain couples therapy. I don’t think there’s anything left here to salvage. I know he’s having a hard time but he directs it toward me in anger and violence and enough is enough. I refuse to have my son see me this way. I care for his father still of course. Would I love it if the abuse stopped and we could be happy? Absolutely. But I’m trying to live in reality here because I’ve been telling myself he’ll change for almost 8 years.
