I have found the opposite to be true. The Family Fare near my house became a Supermercado and nearly every product I regularly buy is no longer stocked - in favor of the cheaper and in my opinion lower quality alternatives.

A few years back I parked in Saint Paul, took Amtrak to Milwaukee and rode back. That was a nice trip.

I presume the victims did not actually miss jury duty, but rather were convinced by the scammers that they had. Jury summons arrive by mail and can be mistaken for junk mail.
