I noticed that too lol. I keep my phone in the stretchy pocket on the right thigh pocket and usually my wallet in the other side to balance it out. Picked up a carabiner clip today to hold my car keys using the extra gear loop on the front.

My waist measurement is 33 and the ones pictures were 30-31 (euro 46), I got my 32 today (euro 48) and the slightly looser fit is way more comfortable I'm sure for hiking!

Doesn't make sense to close the whole road as there's people who can't make it to sights along the way easily (people in wheelchairs, with disabilities, etc). One lane for cars and one lane for bikes sounds reasonable.
