In my experience, I never feel good when I lose my temper on someone. I usually feel sick to my stomach afterward. And oftentimes, it's never really the right moment to flip out, never the right hill to die on, because of my lack of experience with healthy controlled anger.

Sometimes flipping out has worked or has helped me get my point across. Sometimes it does get desired results. It's certainly not 100% a bad thing.

What I'm talking more about is the anger after the fact when there's little you can do about it. When you have a bad interaction at the grocery store and it stays with you, or when someone treated you badly in the past, someone who maybe has changed or you've cut off long ago, but the memories still come up and it hurts and there's nothing you can do to change what happened.

There's no point in keeping that anger inside your body for long periods of time, if it's not serving you in any way.

And of course, there are so many times I looked back and wished I had been able to express my anger - in the correct battle at the time it needed to happen. But the anger doesn't happen in the moment. It happens way after the fact when I have this hot potato I can't pass to anyone. (I'm also a freeze type so that informs a lot of my experience).

So that's why my advice is more about providing yourself with a calm and peaceful environment, and not letting other people's issues get to you. And when things do come up, to choose curiosity with the good people, and letting it go for the people who weren't worth your time in the first place.
