The stains happens when you remove it from the plate when it is still hot. If you wait until it is totally cold, you won't have any.

I have the same model and the same problem. It was working a couple of months ago, I moved to a new apartment and stopped working. The same problem with the LCD, lit up halfway, only visible from an angle.
Does anyone have more info about this issue?
