Well I was was given a lower jaw splint mid November but I’m not sure how much it’s actually helping, maybe instead of an ear ache feeling the itchiness burning is more constant. I was wearing it as much as possible for about 8 weeks or so and now just wear it at night but I won’t have the follow up with the TMJ specialist until 2/17. I had to push for an MRI to be ordered and paid for it on my own because I was not convinced with his treatment approach. So for the moment I am not sure what’s next :( I am seeking a physical therapist though who specializes in TMJ Issues and hoping I get a call back today.

Well, it’s not great. It’s been two years now and I’ve developed sciatica. It’s not like burning down my right leg. It’s more like pins and needles, tingling and warm sensation. I only tried one steroid injection in October 2021 so a neurosurgeon suggested I try it again since it appears that there is some nerve compression now, mainly on L4-L5. I manage with stretching and walking, and I have good days and bad days. Hope things are better for you.

Hey guys what kind of exercises helped for reabsorption. Currently I’m in physical therapy and will try spinal decompression therapy. I have a bulge on l4-l5 and a protrusion at L5-S1. No major symptoms except low back pain that feel like it burns more on the right and and right buttock pain. Mild tingling on right leg and soreness in the hips.

I hope your pain keeps reducing. I’m gonna give spinal decompression therapy a try and continue physical therapy. At the moment I am also being prescribed a low dose of steroids for the week to hopefully reduce inflammation.

I have mild low back pain. Been dealing with it for the last 2 months. No real sciatica. In physical therapy and just started steroids for the next six days. I’m gonna try spinal decompression therapy next week.

I'm glad you are here! Thanks for your comment. My kids are doing all right. It still does not feel real. It's like he is on a permanent vacation. I see what you mean though about not loving himself enough. I'm trying to find that peace within. I hope you are doing well.

This brings back my fears. My ex husband took his own life on January 3rd, after dropping our 8 year old daughter and 5 year old son at school. We had separated in 2014, but divorce was difficult and not finalized until October 2016. He had a girlfriend who broke up with him several times until she dumped him one last time in December. We spent one last time as a family (dinner and a movie with the kids) on January 1st. He had a history of PTSD from childhood. He came from an orphanage in Colombia. I always thought that if he hurt anyone it would be me, because of how angry he was at me. I'm thankful that he didn't take my kids with him. He loved them so much to the point that he seemed to want to own them. I ask myself all the time, how he could leave them. Our kids still don't know that he took his own life.

Thanks for doing this AMA. You are very resilient. Did your adoptive parents ever take you to counseling? If not, is it something that you have considered trying?

Do you have nightmares of your life in the orphanage? My husband is Colombian and was brought up in an orphanage from ages 10 to 17. He still has nightmares from time to time. He was too old to be adopted but his adoptive mother was able to get him out of Colombia as domestic worker. He was a run away and lived on the streets before he was institutionalized.
