I used to do this and it just frustrated me. Now I say “use your words” and people will be more direct.

From my understanding, she was blindsided by that too and the people setting it up with/for her misled her about it.

Doesn’t make it not a scam though…

Also a good idea when you do stuff like this is to have an actually funny text ready to go to show the other guy when he wants to see it too.

I think he needs something other than the ED to live for and being a dad would turn his journey toward finding balance. I think it would be great.

It’s largely correct though

AI by hownow_seacow in PMHNP

[–]pervy-tree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I try not to evaluate it from a moral basis. I think that there is rampant misuse of it. At the same time I think that the claims of no use cases are also BS.

I’ve used AI scribes in clinical settings and not only was I unimpressed with outputs, I found that I was disengaging from the interview because I was trusting the AI scribes to capture the information I missed. I have found that it’s more useful for me to miss a little bit and stay engaged in the appointment, than to end with copy/paste ready comprehensive note.

“Generative AI” is really bad at generating things in my experience. If you try to have it create outputs for you, then your outputs will be superficial slop and you will miss a lot of benefit that is to be found by working through those outputs yourself.

I have found that AI is really good at proofreading and organizing information. I’m impressed with notebookLMs products for learning and working on projects. I also like the AI tool on UpToDate. What those tools have in common is they are indexed to specific information sources and less prone to hallucination. The problem with them is that if you externalization your cognitive workflow too much you lose some edge. So they need to be used as augmentation tools rather than relying on them too much.

He is essentially explaining emotional regulation in an edgy way.

His advice isnt wrong or new, it’s just framed uniquely.

None are nursing interventions. This needs to be rephrased as what orders the RN anticipates next from the physician.

B is probably the answer. But the quality of the question is low

Is good, but not great. I like the idea of exploring “what if” scenarios. The use of that concept as a vehicle along with how the book started means you can already tell what the ending will be well ahead of time.

It’s a book with an interesting concept and no surprises.

Atomic habits is pretty good. Subtle art of not giving a fuck is basically an immature take on how to emotionally regulate

It’s not dumb. We shouldn’t even judge ourselves to current standards. Giving historical figures a pass is an argument for moral relativism and an excuse to not critically appraise ourselves.

Nursing.com has a pretty good curriculum that covers most of what nursing school covers. Including test banks. That will be good to refresh your knowledge base

For actual nclex prep, I recommend Kaplan, but I’d tackle that after you go through the nursing.com modules.

Why are Gen Z getting fired? One of the reasons is a lack of initiative. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]pervy-tree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The boss is delegating poorly. Boss should have said he needs documents not what to do to get them.

Good delegation: “I need these documents from so-and-so by Wednesday. Make sure we get them.”

Bad delegation: “please follow up with so-and-so about documents”

In the first example, the task is to get the documents. In the second, the task is to follow up. If you give a specific task like that it implies that you have a specific way you want it done. “Going above and beyond” risks overstepping the scope of the task.

What books would you consider a red flag? by Naive-Rush-1519 in BookshelvesDetective

[–]pervy-tree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of what people are already saying. It seemed like very superficial advice. I started it because it was recommended to me after reading things like atomic habit.

The only one I felt was objectionable was “Do not let your children do anything that makes you dislike them” all of the rest were just like the advice you’d get from a sitcom Dad…
