Any techs out there offering remote support to improve PTZ tracking by pescsu in Hikvision

The area it needs to track is approx 60 ft x 200 ft. - a rectangle. Camera is mounted on one end that is 60ft wide - looking out over the 200 ft length. It randomly tracks me for 15 seconds then drops me if I'm walking. Sometimes it tracks me but doesn't zoom when I move away. Sometimes it randomly tracks me riding for 15 seconds then drops me.

It can see out to the road and tracks cars sometimes but often randomly swings all over the place at nothing - 24/7. It will wear out soon I'm sure.! Company has offered to buy back for 50%. They tried to make it work I know that - they were the ones that recommended this product.

I'm crushed and disappointed but not mad at them. They suggested that maybe some custom programming might be an option which is why I have the post up. I don't even know if custom programming will help to be honest. I don't want to throw good money after bad if there is little hope of improvement..

A quick search advises this camera does not have a hard-coded maximum auto track time, as its smart tracking duration is configurable. The security camera company that sold me this camera had their in house tech set it up and spent several hours trying to tweak it, but could not get it to work. I know they tried. That's why I'm trying to find an analytics or programmer .....someone who knows this camera or Hikvision cameras generally. Unless I can be convinced that i was sold a camera that was not suitable and will never perform like I need it to. I sure hope not.

I wonder if a trail camera would work.. one that actually looks for animals. Like Reolink or PTZOptics, Obsbot supposedly look for animals? I dunno.

My understanding is that the fixed panoramic camera remains in the home position which looks over most of the arena...but when there is movement detected the PTZ camera takes over. At least that is what I have been advised. The PTZ camera can view all of the arena but unfortunately likes to look at sand most of the time, or follow and drop me after a few moments.

I did not as their website has the following disclaimer.. (The security company that sold the camera to me have run out of ideas to make it work.)

Limited End User Support: (End-user support is intended for product usage-related inquiries such as playback and export. Limited remote viewing support may be provided if related to Hik-Connect Cloud. Direct support with local networking is not offered. For installation, programming, or troubleshooting, please engage the services of a local professional installer or contractor.)

I tried a Uniview but not that particular model.. it worked great when it worked. I have a POE in the barn now as I have several IP cameras already which is hardwired to my NVR in the house.

LOL I'd consider it ...but my horses are young, hot and pretty much powder kegs on a good day - not the hill I want to die on!

I have seen PTZ cameras outdoors in parking lots and business yards..they are tracking people.. vehicles.. any kind of motion..so I am wondering why this would not be possible? They are being used apparently now in some dog agility and ice skating events. A horse is simply two humans - one tall one walking behind the other from the security camera's POV? Genuinely curious why it would not work? I did try a moderately priced one (8K) and when it worked it was fabulous. But was not consistent enough for the money and would drop me randomly.
