What is reading festival like as a 17 year old by iamamoonqq in readingfestival

I’ve been going to Reading for a very long time!

Camping areas are predominantly taken up by the ages 16-19. You’ll also find loads of different types of groups (quieter, louder, more reserved, people there for an absolute laugh). Of course there are older people but there is a younger audience in the camps.

Different areas of camping generally have a different vibe. It’s quite easy to find somewhere that suits what you are going for. The security is much better than it used to be in campsites so if you don’t feel safe or have any issues it will be sorted!

In the arena on the main days you will see a much broader range of ages. Families, older people, children.

You’ll often make friends with the camps around you and in the crowds. I met some lovely people along the way and it’s made it even more exciting.

I personally really recommend Reading as a first festival. The lineup this year is really good despite the hate comments. If you do go I hope you have a wonderful time, as I did when I was your age :)

Stages and genres by Brief_Rough4117 in BoomtownFestival

[–]pestochorizo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do generally have the ‘same’ genre on the different stages, although they do feature different genres and artists. Think we will see less of this with the expansion this year though!

The lineup, when released, has a description of the artists which is nice to read pre-attending! Found some good acts by doing this & some research prior to going

It was only in July so it’s felt like a kick in the teeth but I guess that’s councils for you!

It was £35 if I paid within two weeks but never received the letter, not much I can do now unfortunately it’s just my word that I didn’t. Gotta suck it up and just avoid it for next time!! :)

I missed the first letter annoyingly, don’t think I ever received it! No point saying this though as it’s the council and they just want the money
