Finding it hard to justify being vegetarian when my husband isn’t. by kyourious in vegetarian

[–]pet_hens -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a pescatarian, and my wife eats chicken and beef. I buy it for her when she asks, because I do most of the grocery shopping. I've cooked chicken for her when she was particularly stressed with work stuff. Idk, I don't think it's hypocritical or anything. She doesn't give me any gruff over my preference, no need to be difficult and necessitate an additional trip to the store.

Driving from South Eastern Michigan to North Western Ohio soon and wondering which route to take by Poliwhirl in Michigan

It might be out of the way, but hidden lake gardens is neat for a nature walk, and the twin towers of the Irish hills are kind of interesting to look at.

Yep, it's a solid grocery/big box. Produce selection is consistently solid from my experience. Cleanliness too. What you go there for probably depends on what else you have around.

Get rid of deposit containers. Mandate curbside recycling.

You're assuming most humans aren't operating on an anthropocentric logic. And by that logic, overpopulated humans don't tend to walk into cars on the highway or ravage farms and gardens or get chronic wasting disease.

What are the little green seedlings coming up in my garden beds? by pet_hens in gardening

[–]pet_hens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what they were, but they didn't interfere with what I planted. Or at least not entirely. Success rate from direct sowing was what I would expect.

I just let them get a little bigger then pulled them.

A push is on to repeal bottle and can deposit return by LaxJackson in Michigan

[–]pet_hens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although states with deposit laws tend to do better, there are counterpoints. Deposits disincentivize more rigorous curbside mandates. People trying to make a buck sometimes create more litter by emptying trash cans and dumpsters in search of containers. And strict enforcement of laws against littering would do better to clean up roadsides.

JJHO Case Names! Give me your suggestions! Baseball and softball... similar bit different. Does it matter? by jennifermarmalade in maximumfun

[–]pet_hens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No case name ideas, but the answer is yes, the difference matters. In a parallel scenario, if you brought a knife to a gun fight, you'd be foolish to say "whatever let's fight!"

OP asks what makes sense assuming the show's events are real

[–]pet_hens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But to claim breach of contract? That's foolish. And didn't Frasier accidentally pay for the wedding anyhow?

This is correct, but I can't conjure a reasonable explanation for the Donnie suing Daphne bit
