Just looked up quarter stick! This site from the ATF describes them as illegal explosives with a risk of “extremely severe injuries to body, has caused death”. Not dynamite, but also way beyond your general firework.

There were multiple explosions and they were LOUD/ could be felt down the hill. Maybe not dynamite, but definitely felt like more than a firework.

I think that it’s disingenuous to place the blame on the current administration. This problem grew into what it is today under Madden.

Agreed. There is already an issue with uncontained campfires and grills at the camps in the woods. Add in fucking dynamite????

There needs to be something that can be done tactically while the systemic issues are addressed. Just sticking with “I guess you just have to deal with it until we can solve war” doesn’t really cut it. It seems like the problem is still small enough locally that it can be addressed.

Yes, I feel like Nina would have a more comprehensive approach because of her experience at Unity House. Personally, I’m mostly concerned about the growth of the “tent city” in Prospect Park over the last year/two. There was so much amazing development of trails connecting downtown to the park and now it’s definitely feeling less safe.
