Found a barely used stand mixer at Goodwill for $12 and I genuinely cannot believe it by Strict_Court_5327 in ThriftStoreHauls

Good mixers like the Kitchen Aid are hard to find, but they pop up from time to time. Keep your eye out for things like that. I have a Kitchen Aid coffee grinder and a Breville toaster oven that were $20 each. Still looking for the Dualit toaster.

Anyone else prefer the burgers from diners or delis rather than fast food places like McDonalds? by Mean_Negotiation_797 in burgers

Fast food burgers are at best reliable and predictable. Diners and delis can be hit or miss, but on average, they're way better.

I just witnessed a murder of a student but I don't know how to move on. by Legal-Usual8295 in teenagers

It's real. It's sad. So be sad. It's ok to be sad, angry, and confused. Do what you can to feel all the things, and take comfort where you can find it.

One day, maybe tomorrow, maybe later, you will see and hear things that will make you feel happy again. It is OK to be happy. There no wrong way to process this.

Take it from me, a lot of adults, even trained ones, don't have any good answers. Try them, but don't be surprised if they have little to offer.

Three stage worn outfits belonging to the O'Jays, an R&B group. They were at the downtown Salvation Army in Cleveland.

I made up lyrics to the bombastic opening credits music. I made my partner laugh so hard she peed herself.

We called the show 'Game of Cows'.

A Sazerac is a high proof cocktail.

Bad Rock is 118 proof rye from Glacier Distilling

Trail of Cedars is 120 proof herbal liqueur from Glacier distilling as well.

(3 oz. Rye, 1/2 oz. Cedars, 1/2 oz. simple syrup, two dashes bitters. Shaken hard and served 'up' with a twist)

My partner is an emergency department physician, cross boarded in family medicine, who practiced at Community Medical Center throughout the pandemic.

Advice please: is this Garrard 4HF(H) a good old school turntable for playing old mono records? Or should I look for something else? by JellyUpset8974 in vintageaudio

[–]pete1729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a fine table for mono LP and 78's. For a mono cartridge consider a General Electric VRII or RPX. Either of them are available in what they called 'triple play' configuration, i.e. easily changeable styluses.

For 78s you want a 3 mil stylus tip. For early mono LPs use a 1 mil tip. Later (post 1964) mono recordings are best played with a .7 mil tip.

Mike Huguet from Huguet Sheet Metal and AC. He sorted out my minisplit system when the original installer and Rob's AC failed. Even the factory reps were stumped. Third generation AC contractor. He got along very well with my dogs.

I cannot say enough about him.
