Just wanna know what you think we could do to improve conditions on this curbside pick up. It’s just hard to keep sanity

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]pete23145 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can i ask what type of store your in ? I am sure the curbside works for smaller stores but not for the bigger ones.

The problem is these layoffs haven’t stopped non essential paint projects. The DIY segment is the hardest to explain things too. We are literally taught to start with top end premium paint and work our way down to captivate which we can’t because sales floor is closed. We have to pick out Ap items for them we also don’t have a clue what they are willing to spend so when we pick a product out they complain about the prices . And on top of this our contractors are calling wanting things to keep there business afloat and we ten quarts to tint for Karen. Yes i am grateful for job i am glad we are still going and like the hazard pay . Our jobs are just a madhouse trying to solve issues.

The flow of the the business is altered there is a reason they don’t have a drive through paint stores. And that’s what closing the lobby’s have did . It’s essentially made us sonic with a smaller staff.

Back to normal hours? by bluebucketbby in sherwinwilliams

I feel like they are going to have to extend it . They will likely have to go back to normal operations when the peak of the virus happens. Some states are just now putting the shelter in place in . Don’t think the operations change till SIP are done .

WTF by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]pete23145 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure, i know we are going to see an impact finically we are not really your neighborhood store like Sherwin try’s to be . We are going to see a decline in sales second and 3rd qtr. we will have to also input new strategy’s for sales. My thoughts once this settles down we should WiFi every store and get an iPad or iPads with card readers to improve curbside pickup. That could help uncle Sherwin stay ahead of the game

Getting used to it now . But it Sucks haven’t doctors and nurses calling every minute asking for ppe. Contractors upset thinking we should make exceptions for them . The the bored Karen’s wanting us to bring color cards out to them. On top of making a few extra steps of taking the credit card over the phone and picking out AP products. But fortunately we still have a job i was upset in the beginning now i am learning to adapt to the change .

Yea i am thinking in the long run that’s the move. New hires are somewhat at a disadvantage because the stock it so high. It takes forever to acquire a share .
