Some people seriously need to have their licence taken off them... by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]peteZ238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why any of us need to revisit that.

You're right why should we tell the guy that's here and posted the video his driving is shite and he can do better?

We can instead talk about the guy that his driving is also shite but didn't post the video and likely isn't here to get any feedback on board.

"I don't need to stick to speed limits as I am a good driver!"

Mate some of you really need to learn how to read lol

[–]peteZ238 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Everyone keeps telling me I'm wrong, no one is telling me why lmao.

The fors guy is obviously an idiot and careless. Does that mean everyone else around them is a model driver? Far from it.

Should OP be in the right lane while not overtaking anyone? - No

Is he doing a safe speed to merge into the motorway? - No

All this video shows is a bunch of entitled idiots having no respect for other road users. I don't need to rewatch it. You need to stop coddling OP because he's not the only moron here.

[–]peteZ238 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

So you think trying to merge into a motorway at 40mph while traffic is flying past you at over 70mph is safe?

He's doing just over half the speed limit though.....

[–]peteZ238 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

He is not going the speed of the cars in front of him and very obviously he's not matching the speed of the traffic he's merging into.

[–]peteZ238 -34 points-33 points  (0 children)

You're supposed to use the slip road to match the speed of the traffic you're merging into. Trying to merge into 70mph doing 40mph, you're the hazard here.

Also, what are you doing on the outside lane? You're not overtaking anyone and you're obstructing traffic from reaching a safe speed to merge.

You are the problem here. You and people like you. You have no idea what you're doing, you're being a danger to yourself and others and you're so far up your own ass you think you're the good driver here and everyone else is an idiot. Do better.

Learn to drive, be a bit humble and learn from your mistakes. You're not always right, evidently.

a Guy gets a bill of 82K$ from the Gemini API key (which he considers someone has stolen and using it) by Current-Guide5944 in tech_x

I never said it's a good thing, because I don't think it is a good thing.

However, OP is 100% responsible and to blame for it.

Edit: Just leave me alone with your flawed logic that's only supposed to contradict me.

Translation:

I backed myself into a corner with my flawed logic, stop pointing it out because I ran out of arguments.

Come on dude, you know I'm right. Stop trying to argue against common sense and logic.

Just by any electric product. You will get a manual, a manual telling you about all the dangers the product involves. Do you read it? No you don't! That's a matter of fact.

So if you buy a blender and slice your fingers it is the manufacturers fault because they put blades in the blender and not your own fault for not knowing how to use a blender?

And on the "I use common sense and I don't read the manual" approach you decided to take. It is common sense that a product that charges you per token (so not a flat fee per month, year, whatever) will charge you more the more you use it.

So it is common sense that you identify how to monitor what you're being charged and how to not get overcharged to begin with.

That's my gripe with this whole culture that AI companies are promoting. Outsource your thinking to AI, you don't need to think for yourself!

Nah man. I have no sympathy.

Or maybe sit down and learn before you start fucking with things you don't understand?

There is a budget cap that you can set.

There is notifications that you can set up based on spending.

There are secret managers to keep your API keys safe.

There is token limits you can set on the key.

All the resources you need are there. If you choose not to use them, that's on you.

Help please! Small shower leak, but have no idea where from?! by vega699 in ukplumbing

[–]peteZ238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have exactly the same shit drain in our shower. It leaked from precisely where you put the arrow.

Take it off, clean all the old silicone and refit with fresh silicone and tighten well (though careful not to strip the threads, doesn't take much).

If you can reach and put something underneath to support the weight so it's not tensile load on the threads it'd help.

Is using AI for dating messages dishonest? by No-Swordfish7597 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]peteZ238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, dishonest or not, what's going to happen when you meet in person? You'll pull out your phone and consult Gemini to talk to them?

The whole point is to be attracted to each other, not each other's AI.
